From cask at Egham 13. Pours clear and golden amber with a small tan head. Aroma is toasted malty, fruity. Flavour is fruity with a light infection note. Bitter and toasted malty. Dry and bitter finish.

Cask at the Egham Beer Fest. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is rather mellow; light roasted malt, faint honey, caramel and toast. The taste is roasted malt, caramel, sweet honey, dark fruit, light sourness and some burnt plastic with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Just a sweeter version of entire really. Ok, but nothing particularly special.

Cask at the 13th Egham Beer Festival. Deepest magohany in colour with a loose cream head; some honey is detectable on the nose; soft in the mouth with a disntinctly honeyed sweetness, offset by a richy malty body; and a lightly hopped bitter finish.

Old Fountain. Hazlenut version. Light haze on this amber beer. Little pale tan head. Smooth palate, a little soft. Mild carbonation. Soft malt. sweet hazlenuts. Whisper of something chocolate. Sweet candy fruits before the neutral finish and a trace of bubblegum ester. Interesting and tasty.

Cask Gravity. It pours deep brown with pretty much no head. The nose is strong caramel, raisin, wood, leather and toffee. The taste is leather, wood, toast, faint spice, raisin, subtle umami aspect, earth and some caramel sweetness in the background, with a dry finish. Medium body and pretty much flat. The condition just wasn’t there due to the dispense method. I will endeavour to re-try this at the next available opportunity.

Cask at the Half & Half, Croydon. It pours deep brown, with a thick beige head. The nose is big on the pumpkin, honey-roasted butternut squash, faint vanilla, wood, leather and spice. The taste is wood, leather, spice, soft pumpkin, squash, decent bitterness, hint of caramel, earth and light vanilla with a dry, lightly spicy finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Smooth, well balanced and highly drinkable. Pumpkin is more apparent on nose. I definitely prefer this version to the base beer. Great to see something interesting like this being brewed in Croydon.

Cask at The Skylark, Croydon. It pours golden yellow, with a medium white head. The nose is grass, leaf, citrus fruit, fresh cucumber and light celery. The taste is straw, pithy lemon, lime, light grass, some bitterness and faint spice, with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A decent crisp, citrussy golden ale.

Cask at The Gunmakers, Clerkenwell, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Aroma of dark fruit and caramel. Tastes of dark fruit, caramel, malty, slightly bitter. It is OK but lacking in something.

Handpump at The Old Fountain Beer Festival, October 2012. Dry-hopped version. Pours clear auburn with almost no head. Leathery fruits in the nose, some wet wood, berries. Light sweet flavor with bitter leaves, toasty sugar, burnt wood, toasted grass, ripe berries. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Pretty dry on the finish, with more leaves and berries, along with some faint brown sugar. Basic, pleasant. Could probably be in better condition, I might add.
