Sampled from the tap at ABR 2016. Pours a clear deep amber brown with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of earthy dark grains, roasted malts, straw and a hint of dark chocolate. Flavor has more of a sweet dark grains and dark chocolate combination supported by roasted malts.

12 oz can. It’s a medium-dark amber color. Somewhat hazy. Small off white head, fairly fizzy. Light toasted malt flavors. Fairly nutty. Light herbal note. Caramel backbone but it’s quite mild. Taste is quite dry. Lots of nuttiness. Caramel with a light sour twang, not sour sour, though. Fairly thin. Moderate bitterness with more of that hoppy herbal flavor. Kinda boring.

The taste is toffee, caramel, leafy and piney hops. Thin. Nice aroma, kinda falls a little flat after that. A good start at least.
