Looks really strange. dark toilet water with red hints and a reddish brown head. Smells is sweet, fruity with a tough of floral .taste is strange. certainly fruity, touch of cherry, wood, oak and melon. It’s not bad. Has a yeasty mouthfeel and taste.

It pours a hazy straw colour and brings a 1 finger head of foam. Lacing aplenty.

My, I sure can smell the orange peel. Other spices, but no real funk showing up for me.

Orange way up front in the taste too. It seems to bring some sweet and tart notes unless something else is doing the former or latter. A bit of pepper starts to show up after my 3rd sip. Tellicherry black peppercorns? Okay, I had to google that. Imparts floral and cherry flavours. ’splains a lot!

Medium bodied, medium carbonation, it starts of with the orange and finishes with it. There’s not much heat from the alcohol or the peppercorns. It isn’t the easiest brew to drink but it’s enjoyable. I guess, my bottom line is...do "we" have to imperialize every style?

16 oz can. Pours black with a light tan head. Aroma is roasty at first, but is more so dominated by dark fruit (grape), molasses, hints of iron and medicinal cherry. Flavor leans more on the roasty cocoa, but still a fair amount of molasses and dark fruit (both raisin and grape). Pretty nice, though I somewhat wish the fruit flavors were increased.

This was poured into a chalice.
The appearance was a hazy orange to brown color with a slim one finger white head that dies within a minute leaving messy lacing just going all over the place.
The smell had some spiced apples, light bready yeast, subdued pepper and a light clove.
The taste was spicy and sweet and added a light grassy taste in it as well.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body with a fair sessionable rate about it. The carbonation was good for the style and for me, slightly sharp but still smooth enough to go down the ol’ hatch.
Overall, good tripel of having again.

Can for IPA day: Poured a clear coppery orange with a creamy off white head. Aroma is hops and grass. Nice mix of hops, Belgian yeast, light soapy finish.

A hazed blonde to orange juice colour with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity major with orange and light sulfur, light pine needles. In mouth, a sweet orange pulp with ginger, coriander, light maple, interesting. On tap at emporium.

The appearance was centered around a decent hazy golden yellow to somewhat orange/light brown color. There was a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute and left some light lacing sticking nicely around the sides of the glass.
The smell had some nice light Belgian spices up front and let in a slight sour lemon.
The taste took the lemon and the Belgian spices to town and let in a decent citrus flavoring. It left a really dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation was sharp but nothing overbearing.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good Belgian pale ale worthy of having again.

This was poured into a tulip as I thought this was a Belgian IPA.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden bronzed amber color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. There wasn’t much lacing.
The smell had some tart to sour notes of grassy/lemon and moves towards some light Belgian spices.
The taste combines it all to fit a sour to bitter mouthiness to fulfill a light tart fruitiness all around.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed good for a Belgian IPA as there was a pretty decent harshness but not overbearing.
Overall, this was not a bad IPA or Belgian IPA, either way I could see myself having this again.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no canning date, but is a recent release. Pours clear nearly pitch black color with a 1 finger fairly dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a lacing cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of raisin, prune, banana, chocolate, roasted malt, dark bread, light coffee, clove, light bubblegum, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/roasted malt notes; with good strength. Taste of raisin, prune, banana, chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, dark bread, light coffee, light bubblegum, clove, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Slight earthy roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, prune, banana, chocolate, cocoa, roast, dark bread, light coffee, clove, light bubblegum, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/roasted malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, lightly slick, and fairly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Belgian dark ale. All around good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/roasted malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
