Big BIG thanks to Doodler for reading my mind and send me this NM barleywine. I owe you man! The gold waxed 22oz bomber pours opaque copper with gold hues and supporting a short lived tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a tart sort of red wine note and then it starts to get into some oak, vanilla and bourbon. The taste is similar where I’m getting bourbon sliding into a barrel tartness and a bit of red wine. Wow, there is no beer left here but just vanilla, bourbon and a slight infection. Sure glad I didn’t try and age this one.

Can, big long lasting dense head, clear deepish copper colour,aroma of pine and citrus, biscuity malty flavour that is a touch too sweet with a strong and abraisive grapefruit bitterness and some herbal touches. Good solid IPA.

Can: Deep brown pour yields two fingers of tan head. Nice sticky lacing. Aroma is sweet, piney, citrus, light roast, and chocolate malts. Simple flavor, hops and chocolate malt. Good amount of pine and citrus, roast, and cocoa. I’m really getting into this style right now, mainly due to examples like this. Simple, flavorful, and it all comes together in harmony.

Can: Very dark brown pour yielding a finger of creamy tan head. Strong aroma of fresh coffee and cocoa... some semblance of Kahlua... lovin it! Lots of coffee in the flavor, really more of a high-quality medium roast than dark espresso. A little hop bitterness along for the ride. I wish more of the aroma would have translated to the taste, but this is still very refreshing (I still love this style) and overall very well done.

Can, thanks to Trukpro. Talk about a sexy looking beer! Bright copper pour with a large, creamy beige head. Sticky lacing. Piney, grapefruit, and citrus hops aroma. Flavorful with hops; pine resin, light grapefruit, and caramel malts. Finishes great too. Lingering piney/grapefruit sticks throughout the mouth. As far as drinkable and high-quality IPAs go, this is very well done.

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark chocolate, sweet malt, smoke, sweet chili fruit - smoke, tart notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, sweet chile fruit - smoke, dark chocolate malt, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20120809]

Can shared at a tasting at the new Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Ruben for this can! Clear deep golden. Hoppy aroma, a bit floral and a bit citric with a light caramel note. Flavor has light malty sweetness and nice bitter grapefruity hops. Medium-bodied. Decent.
