22oz bomber. Thick, murky red-brown, with a thin oily head. The aroma is sort of dominated by the sweet malt, with some bitter, resinous hops sneaking in as well. While the flavor and aroma are quite brutal, the mouthfeel is pretty mellow, remaining relatively drinkable for the ABV. A hair drier and lighter than a typical US version. Sweet caramel molasses, a touch of fruitiness. Excellent example of the style, well executed. Not insanely hopped, which helps it lose some of the cloying syrupyness associated with the style. Rich yet clean.

Bottle - very lively, lightly hazy gold pour, with a frothy, thick, well-sustained head - subdued by complex aroma, with notes of yeast, understated phenols, orange and lemon zest, honey, lavender - creamy mouthfeel - very light and balanced - very subtle, which some might mistake for being simplistic, but it is not - dough, yeasty, tart orange - a bit of crispy grain character - mellow phenols - tangy and earthy - fairly dry and quite spicy - finish of lemon and dry grains - quite lovely, really.

Bottle. Pours black with a creamy, beige head. Roasty aroma with good chocolate notes. Lightly sweet with plenty of dark malts. Light bodied with average carbonation. The malt character is a bit sharp and almost astringent. Finish is short with light malts and faint roast. Decent.

22oz bottle pours a hazy, burnt orange with a creamy, beige head. Nose is battery acid and burnt toast, some whole grains, some apple cider vinegar. Really oxidized. Flavor is tart, SUPER tart, white vinegar, apple cider vinegar. Full bodied, acidic finish. Just way too much acid.

Wash. DC tasting. golden, thin white head vinegary palate, light malts, deep tartness, puckering mouthfeel with lasting apple sourness. Yes this is indeed, a great wild ale, definitely on the very sour side. Dry-crispy palate and finish, and yes, it’s vinegary all the way. Tasty.

bottle thanks to Baker! Pours pitch black with a medium tan head. Aroma is very barrel forward, earthy wood notes and brown sugar. Flavor is mild licorice, roasted malts, burnt sugar and vanilla with lingering oak notes in the finish. This is a great beer.

Bottle thanks to Kan, big thanks as always! Poured a slight hazy amber with a purple hue and a near white head that dissipated somewhat quickly. Aroma was overall sour with acidic fruits, but an odd late note of popcorn kernels. Flavor was began slightly sweet with a quickly growing sour fruit and acidic notes that lead to a nice finish.

Bottle shared by Kan, thanks! Poured a hazy fruity looking amber with a gray head that dissipated slowly. Aroma was quite sour with sour fruits, some vinegar and a bit of wine popping out. Flavor was similarly sour with sour fruits in the beginning and some vinegar coming in with a finish that was a bit dry from a slight wine note. Really enjoyed this beer!

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a gray brown head that dissipate to the edges. Aroma is full of roasted malts with a sweet chocolate undertone. Flavor begins with roasted malts but the sweet chocolate quickly grew for a sweet finish.
