Description
Founder Tsjomme Zijlstra's idea to start his own brewery came to him after his time in England. He started to brew his own beer at home and decided in 2014 that he wanted go bigger. He met Menno and John, owners of Brouwerij de Molen in Bodegraven, and told them his story. They taught him how to brew with one of their old brewing installations. Kaapse Brouwers was born.

We are Kaapse Brouwers. We are the brewers who introduced craft beer to Rotterdam, and Rotterdam to the world. With our Kaapse recipes we brew non-conformist beers. We choose for bold recipes and love to experiment with different flavors to create contemporary craft beers.

Thanks Isabel for this beer, nice present for my stay at Barendrecht. Hot weather and I drank this beer at night, after 4 hours delay from Germany. Solid oatmeal stout, nutty, chocolate, roasty, smooth coffee, sweet, bitter, subtle, drank it for days ago, loving the oat to brew the beers in general.

Draught. A bit unclear yellow color, white head. Aroma and flavor are lightly malts, hoppy bitters, bitter, hayish hoppy. Decent body and carbonation.

Name in this one is appropriate, Final Destination, as I’m drinking outside Shiphol airport in the sun, as the flight is cancelled. Beer is tasty, bitter, resinous and fruity,. Decent DIPA

Draft at Brewdog Rotterdam, Witte de Withstraat. Poured a slightly hazy yellow golden colour with some clingy white lace. The aroma is grainy, yeasty. The flavour is moderate bitter, worn a crisp, fresh, dry yeasty, light citrus hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average bitterness. Almost a little saison like.

On tap at Proeflokaal Arendsnest. Pours clear brown with a thin beige head. Roasted malts and light bourbon on the nose. Flavour has tons of perfumey liquor barrels, gentle roast. Not great, relies too heavily on barrels.
