Description
Founder Tsjomme Zijlstra's idea to start his own brewery came to him after his time in England. He started to brew his own beer at home and decided in 2014 that he wanted go bigger. He met Menno and John, owners of Brouwerij de Molen in Bodegraven, and told them his story. They taught him how to brew with one of their old brewing installations. Kaapse Brouwers was born.

We are Kaapse Brouwers. We are the brewers who introduced craft beer to Rotterdam, and Rotterdam to the world. With our Kaapse recipes we brew non-conformist beers. We choose for bold recipes and love to experiment with different flavors to create contemporary craft beers.

0.33 l can from 'OnderNulPuntVijf', best before March 2022. A little hazy, golden yellow with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, rather fruity-floral, a bit grassy aroma of lemon peel, pineapple and light gooseberry. Slightly sweet, minimally sourish, fairly fruity-floral and a little grassy taste of lemon, pineapple and light gooseberry, followed by a short, slightly bitter, minimally tart finish. Thin to medium body, minimally astringent and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty, refreshing NAIPA, nicely light and fruity, not as sweet as many others.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.5%, IBU 20. Slightly hazy golden colour, pours fizzy with a shortlived white head. Aroma of decaying peaches and stale marmalade. The flavour has a moderate fruity acidity, with notes of lactic acid. Also distinctly sweet, moderate notes of peaches. A little bitterness in the finish. Won't buy again.

Nice tasty beer. But it had an unusual thin texture for a beer like this with 10 horse power. almost session able. Also a balanced and fine integrated whisky profile. Not to dominating Looks black in the glass and a fine beige head Ok intensity in the aroma Mellow carbonation level and a pleasant sweetness Dark malt, chocolate, vanilla, oak and mellow whiskey in the flavor [Bottle from Lasse]

50 cl. bottle shared with Brent @ home, gift from Brent. Hazy orange with a white head. Citrus arome with some little tropical fruit as well. Bitter taste with a bitter finish. Indeed a fine hazy west coast IPA.
