Bottle at BBT 11/2023 #2. Rather thin body, medium carbonation. Medium bitterness, with light astringency, low sweetness. Bready, grainy, little else to be found here. Rather background hops character. A bit of basementy damp yeastiness. Not great, not terrible.

0.33 l bottle from 'Meraner Weinhaus' as 'Batzen Bräu Colonial IPA' at 6.2% abv, best before February 2024. A bit hazy, amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, rather fruity and quite resiny aroma of peach, tangerine, orange and pine. Quite sweet, moderately bitter, very fruity and slightly resiny taste of tangerine, peach, orange, some mango and light pine, followed by a short, moderately bitter finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty IPA, albeit very sweet, but nicely fruity and quite different.

0.33 l can from 'Meraner Weinhaus', best before May 2029. A little hazy, deep ruby with a few beige bubbles on top of it. Intensely sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of molasses, raisins, prunes, vanilla and bourbon. Rather sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently fruity taste of molasses, raisins, prunes, brown sugar, vanilla and bourbon, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly boozy finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, almost flat. Delicious sipper, complex and saturating.

0.33 l bottle from 'Gastrodrink', best before June 2024. Hazy, golden amber with a medium large, slightly fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, quite herbal-spicy, gently fruity and a bit yeasty aroma of lots of juniper, white pepper, hay and citrus. Slightly sweet, quite dry, fairly herbal-spicy and gently fruity taste of white pepper, juniper, citrus, hay and light clove, followed by a short, slightly bitter, peppery and dry finish. Almost medium-bodied, rather effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Interesting beer, unfortunately too spicy for my liking and too effervescent, even for a Saison.

0.33 l bottle from 'Gastrodrink', 6.8% abv, best before July 2024. Almost clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty, slightly fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee bourbon, dark fruits, vanilla and some caramel. Quite sweet, malty, fairly roasty and a bit fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, vanilla, bourbon, oak, coconut, some dark fruits and light ash, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, slightly woody finish. Medium body, fairly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty beer, unfortunately way too effervescent, killing some of the deeper flavours. Could have been much more.
