500ml bottle from M&S. Pale gold, disappearing white head. Looks fairly well carbonated. Slight commercial cider aroma, it’s a medium dry cider with a bit of woodiness in theR some tannin and tartness from the apple fruit. It’s fairly drinkable and for a 6.6% drink it’s quite inviting. I wouldn’t mind giving this to someone, but still a fair step away from some of the smaller producers and the more tannic acidic ciders. Halfway between commercial and small independent.

500ml bottle from M&S. I suppose one of the benefits of being ill is that I get the chance to catch up on some rates. Pale gold thick white rocky head Cardboard on aroma. A fairlt timid and thin lager, some hints at a lemony hop finish. Pretty poor

Bottle at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. Lemony sherberty aroma. Lemon squash and a bit of malt in the flavour. Not great. 43429 2.2/5.0. Re-rate bottle from M&S. Cropton bottles can be a little up and down. Very deep brown with very thin dark beige head.. Cinnamon Christmas cake aroma. It’s like a slice of Christmas cake, very spicy, overly spicy I would say with some nutmeg and clove which is too much for me. Malts in mouth are fine. Still not overly convinced by it, but this was a much better bottle. Still too spicy I think;

500ml, bottle conditioned, bb.06.09. Cloudy, red-brown body with a few thin floaters on the surface. Very strange kind of smell and taste. Something seems to have gone terrible wrong making this beverage. Everything is out of balance. Weird aroma of oily berries and nutmeg. Unbalanced blend of sour anise, herbs and nutmeg in a taste profile that is really hard to describe further. A very flat and lifeless drink. The bottle was bought at a Marks & Spencer store in Edinburgh just because of the Christmas label – a great mistake [Tromsø, 27.12.2008].

Near black with a slight, off-white head. Roasted malt aroma with some dark chocolate. Smooth mouth feel, with lots of roastiness, more chocolate and a touch of creaminess. Good stuff.

Angry fist of Santa tasting at Chris_o’s. Pale gold, thin lasting white head. Lovely hoppy aroma. Definitely will buy this again. It’s brilliant. Biscuity malt, lovely sherberty hop on end.
