dry-hopped with Mosaic, 8-5-9-5-18=45
Hazy amber color with compact head. The aroma of Mosaic is very citrusy here, also a bit pungent; fresh and deep. Smooth mouthfeel, lean malt and toffee flavor, supported by some residual sweetness, explosion of Mosaic, but balanced bitterness; a lot of orange peel character in the end.
Fantastic IPA.
2014-03-16, bottle at the brewpub, 7-4-7-5-13=36
Very piney and relatively fruity, very bitter, but also heavy with the caramel and not as refreshing as it should be.
2013-01-01, draught at Manchester Public Eatery, Vancouver, 8-5-8-4-16=41
Beautiful amber color, hazy. Fresh aroma, fruity, with a hint of strawberries. Very good flavor, mix of malt, caramel and toffee; strong bitterness, with fruity character, a bit peachy. The final has a faint earthy, manure character, but it’s also a bit harsh.
Excellent as usual.
2012-08-08, draught at the brewpub, 7-4-8-5-16=40
Amber color, with creamy head. Nice aroma, some toffee, hops, with a sweaty and lemony touch. Very good toffee flavor, malt, with fresh and dynamic hopping, lots of citrus fruits, some bergamot, piney resins in the end.
Excellent as usual.
2011-03-17, draught at the brewpub, 8-5-8-5-16=42
Beautiful amber color; medium sized creamy head; nice lace. Nice fruity aroma, with oranges, citrus fruits, bergamot, light mango. The body is quite lean, the mouthfeel is dry; there is a fairly good toffee flavor; the hopping is very powerful, aromatic, with a lot of hop oils; some dry resins, little fruitiness, a bit sweaty.
Great with food.
2010-03-13, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, as Red Racer IPA, 8-4-7-4-15=38
Amber color. The aroma is very nice, hoppy and fruity (mango…). Good caramel flavor, strong bitterness, very resiny, lightly fruity. The final is quite piney (it’s a bit too aggressive, but pleasant overall). Too much dark caramel in the end.
2008-07-21, draught at the brewpub, 7-4-8-5-16=40
Nice copper color. Very nice hop aroma, citrusy. Good body structure, good malt and caramel flavor with an extremely citrusy hopping, grapefruit over all. The strong bitterness lasts long. Outstanding all the other beers here. Excellent try.

2012-08-08, draught at the brewpub, 6-4-7-4-14=35
Amber color. The aroma is simple, but the malt and toffee flavor is good, well balanced, with a nice bitterness level; the hop provides some resiny and fruity touch, more evident in the long final.
Pleasant Ale.
2012-08-07, cask at Alibi Room, as Red Racer Double Hopped Citra Pale Ale, 7-4-7-4-15=38
Amber color. Mild hoppy aroma, nice but not Citra-like, some sweat, lemon peel. Good malt flavor, lean, with pleasant balanced hopping, strong resins, hints of creamy Citra. A bit astringent in the end.
Very pleasant.
2008-07-21, draught at the brewpub, 6-3-6-3-12=30
Golden color. Light but nice hop aroma. It has a pleasant caramel and hop flavor, not complex but drinkable. Strong bitterness.

2008-07-30, draught at The Railway Club, Vancouver, 5-3-6-3-11=28
Blond color, thick head. It actually has a mild but quite nice cereals flavor. Well bitter. Pleasant.
2008-07-21, draught at the brewpub, 5-2-5-3-11=26
Blond color. Very light malt aroma. It has somehow a rounder body than a common Lager, without having a better flavor. Strong bitterness. Easy.

Hazy pale blond color. It’s drier than the Wally’s Wheat and it has a light plastic aroma and flavor. Not good.

2010-03-13, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, as Red Racer ESB, 7-4-7-3-14=35
Hazy amber color. The aroma, malty, is also quite fruity. Sweetish caramel flavor, correct bitterness. The hop gives a pleasant fruit touch, also citrus fruits, but in the end the bitterness is too aggressive.
2008-07-30, draught at The Railway Club, Vancouver, as Big Kettle ESB, 7-5-7-5-15=39
Hazy amber color, creamy head. Very nice hoppy aroma, fruity (mango) and very light cheese, a bit yeasty. Good and strong toffee flavor, with a very powerful hopping, resiny and fruity; the yeast touch gives it an English facet (side to side with the Phillips IPA, it’s sweeter, with more character, more fruity, the hop bitterness is less aggressive). Very long final. Lovely.
2008-07-21, draught at the brewpub, 6-4-7-4-13=34
Nice amber color. It’s the upper step from the Red Racer Pale Ale: more body, more caramel flavor, more hop aroma, more bitter, and the hops show more resins and citrus character. Pleasant.
2008-07-17, draught at The Alibi Room, Vancouver, as Baby Boomers ESB, 7-4-8-4-15=38
Hazy amber color, creamy head. It has a good balanced flavor, caramel, medium sweet, and American hops, with a citrusy and resiny touch (6 hops here, I’m told). Very good.

2012-07-24, draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 5-3-5-2-10=25
Hazy amber color with a red hue; small creamy head. Light aroma od raspberry juice. Mild flavor of wheat and raspberry juice; the fruit presence is light, the wheat beer is boring.
2008-07-21, draught at the brewpub, 4-3-5-2-9=23
Red-amber color. Light aroma. No wheat flavor, just similar to a Lager with a light raspberry touch. Correct bitterness.
