Hazy amber-red. Thin head, but nice lacing. Has a caramelly malt aroma. Taste is caramelly and lightly spicy/herbal. Finishes w rosemary and other spice. Lots of caramel and light alcohol. Seems fuller and tastier than in past years.

Orangey-amber with a thin head. Tomatoey-gourdy aroma. Sweetish palate mixes caramel and pumpkin. Maybe some vague spice, but I get the idea that there is none in here. A mellow, pumpkiny version.

Can. Pale incontinent yellow. Low head. Light corny aroma. Lightbodied, slight bread base. Forgettable pale lager flavours, light body. Made for the crappy lager crowd no doubt.

Can. Pine and passionfruit dominate flavour and aroma. Amber, fine carbonation, lacing head. Flowery sweetness which stops at the right time, good balance. Medium body, fine sparkly mouthfeel. Very nice - thanks Daniel!

Pours bright gold into a shaker. White head quickly subsides to hug rim. Pine and resin aromas. Crisp with sweet caramel upfront turning to a tight resin finish.

Pours pale gold into a shaker. Fizzy white head recedes to nothing. Sweet cookie and caramel. Bread upfront turning to a bitter hop finish.

smells malty and with alcohol, some of that artificial-ness flavouring but not so bad. Looks pretty good, okay head. Taste is a little heavy on the syrup and alcohol but also a good mix of grains and sweetness with a medium finish. However, this one doesn’t stand out.

On tap at the Alibi Room - pours a golden/red with a small white head. Aroma and flavour are slightly hoppy and bitter. This is like a way weaker version of the Empire IPA - drinkable and refreshing, but no where near as satisfying as the IPA.

Can: Poured an amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of hops is pretty intense with bitter and citrus notes clearly identified. Taste is a great mix between some citrus and bitter hops with a good caramel malt backbone. Body is a bit thin for style with good carbonation. Well done and would stand well within some of the staple of the style.

New rating (March 2022): This is terrible now. Sweet, syrupy with a poor hop profile. It's sad. This beer helped get me into IPAs. Nowadays it's a pathetic beer that demonstrates how Central City has long lost its way. Bad. 5 3 5 2 10 Very old rating from 2012: On tap at the Alibi Room - pours an amber/gold colour. Aroma is extremely hoppy, with prominent floral notes and not much malt backing - the florla nose is unique, unlike any other IPA I've had. Flavour is much the same, with huge floral hops lingering. When fresh, and especially on tap, this is one of the best (non-Imperial) IPAs out there and likely the best in BC along with Fat Tug. 9 4 9 4 16
