Description

We are Grainli® - a company focussed on the trade of plant-based ressources like malting barley. Instead of just talking about other beers, we wanted to create our own beer. In cooperation with experienced brewers the brand „Barbarossa I am“ was created. We started with our four beers – 3 of them barrel-aged: Imperial Stout, Porter and Hansebock. Our Gose, while not barrel-aged also incorporates wood into the process via the oak chips it is matured on. Namesake of our beers is Friedrich the I. (nicknamed Barbarossa), who allegedly gave Hamburg the so called „Freibrief“ which enabled the city to trade in beer and grain.

Clear golden beer with a white head. Aroma of riped yellow fruits, pale malt. Taste of mid sweet strong pale malt, oak, yeast.

Süffiger, weich hellmalziger Beginn. Milde Herbe, hintergründig Pfeffer, etwas holzig, milde Süße. Spritzig, wenig fruchtig, mittellanger Abgang, etwas kräutrig-hefig. 9/10/8/8/9/8

Dunkel malziger Beginn, deutliche Säure. Erhöhte Karbonisierung, ansteigende Röstnoten, leichte Bitterkeit. Nicht ganz harmonisch aber doch nett. 10/8/7/8/9/8
