Huge thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass with a nice head. Moldy malty aroma. Starts mild, malty, more and more grasy-moldy, sweetish background. Bready notes. Finish with a light fruity touch. Okay.

Waldhaus Black Forest Porter, Fläschchen als Mitbringsel von Thomas aus seiner badischen Heimat. - Fast schwarzes Kupferrotbraun. - In der Nase schön kerniges Röstmalz mit frischem Vollkornbrot und feinen Aromen von Mokka, etwas Torf, Asche, dezente Vanillesüße, ein wenig Zitronat. - Antrunk füllig und weich aber unerwartet karamellig-süß, was die schönen Espressoaromen stark dämpft. Auch die leise zitronige und hopfenwürzige Hopfung erstickt beinahe in Zucker. Milder rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang leise malzbitter und sehr dezent hopfenherb. - Was in der Nase vielversprechend begann, endet leider zu süß und flach; Röstmalz und Schokolade kommen zu wenig zur Geltung. Immerhin rund und angenehm. (7.2.2023.)

0.33 l bottle from 'AleHub', best before October 2022. Slightly hazy, golden with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly malty and a bit floral aroma of grains, some apple and a touch of straw. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, a bit grassy taste of grains, some vanilla, light honey and hints of straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, minimally metallic finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Solid pale Doppelbock, quite pleasant, not too shabby.

Bottle from local Fristo. Hazy pale golden with tall white head, very stable. Malty, slightly hoppy with a herbal touch and some yeasty fruity hints in the fast distance. Quite nice.

0,33 l bottle from Zisch, Wildeshausen. BB 01/23. Clear golden, one finger white head. Intensive floral and citrus hoppy smell. Taste is more pale grainy with citrus and floral hop. Mid dry bitterness, little bit cardboard. Getting thinner in the end.

bottle from some local Getränkemarkt. Deep brown colour with a red glow, mid-sized off-white head. Malty sweet with roasty flavours, some shy caramel, cocoa and walnut and a (slightly fruity) hoppy touch in the finish. A tad on the sweet side, but otherwise rally tasty.

Fläschle (Dank an Quack-Duck!): Deep, Deep ruby-amber coloured, clear, smaller off-white foamy layer, moderate to solid sweet caramelly-toasty (almost already roasty) aroma with a pretty Faint herbal bitterness underneath; solid sweet and mildly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied, soft, but a bit sticky; pretty delicate hoppy traces in the mainly sweet caramelly and toasty finish. Sigh! Not bad, but way too sweet...
