330ml bottle from Tesco, Shrewsbury. Pours gold with small bubbly head. Sweetcorn aroma. Taste is rice, sweetcorn, light malt, easy drinking but its rice element gets a bit off-putting. Not terrible, but not great either.

From historic notes. Bottle from a shop in Chinatown. Pours a pale yellow colour with a small white head. Grassy aroma along with sweet malts. Quite thin, average carbonation.

Tasted in a Vietnamese restaurant in Brussels. Typical Asian lager, with deep golden blonde colour, snow white head and clear rice presence; aroma lightly spicy and grainy, taste sweetish, rice-like, thin and smooth with light grassy hops in the finish. Not even that bad for its substyle (if you get one that isn’t lightstruck, at least), but I liked Singha from Thailand better.

Bottle. A- Vomit, skunky, fruity. A- Golden color, clear liquid, minimal head. T- Fruity, sweet corn, watery, malty, honey, cereal. P- Light body, average texture, medium carbonation, sweet finish. O- As first sniff I wanted to die, it was awful. Thankfully I got past it to try. Let me say that the flavor is not amazing by a long long long shot, it’s a pale lager for God’s sake. But it sure beats the hell out of the aroma. All in all, if I could plug my nose, this would be a drinkable and above average pale lager.

355 ml. bottle @ home. Procured from Sun Wah. Clear rising bubbles corn golden with a patchy mouldy looking foam on top. Smells of chemical apples, plastic, sweeteners, esters etc. Taste is tolerable for what it is but it is better to ignore the smell. Tastes of cooking oil, chemicals, apples, starts, dry, light bitter industrial hop notes, starch, bitter oily, sticky. Rubbish as expected. Industrial sweet to beat the heat in Vietnam and get a mild buzz on, swill over taste. Bottled on 19/02/2014.

Bottle from Booths, Media City. Paler golden ale with a carbonation and a thin diminishing head. It’s quite bland and dry but there’s a very good balance with the ingredients and it’s not bad in the palate.

Bottle. Nose is malt, tin and cereal. Taste is cereal, slight cloying sweetness and a cardboard finish. It has the light note of many Asian lager (or at least the ones that make it to the UK). Mouthfeel is fine. A better than average commercial lager. I really love the look of the bottle, which is very appealing.

Bottle. Pale yellow with off-white foamy small head, sharp yeast and hops aroma, medium carbonation, thin body, flat malt taste, abrupt finish. Another pale lager that has nothing to remember.
