Originally rated August 2005. This Vietnam pilsner-like brew pours a golden-yellow colour. The head of this one is pretty damn nice. Good retention and beautiful spider-web lacing. The nose is very grassy and metallic. Slight bitterness on the tongue at first and a smooth malty finish. The hop comes back in very mildly in the aftertaste. Grass is also felt in there, in the middle. Not bad at all and quite refreshing.

Nice cereal-like flavour. The rice ensures a very clean taste. A simple refreshing lager.

Bottle. Gold with a decent white head. Sweet malts with a touch of perfume on the finish. There are worse lagers out there.

A small touch of decency in a world of bad Vietnamese lagers. Better than all the other Saigon named brews, this one has a tang to it at least - one that’s not all bad. In a bottle in Saigon.

Everything about this one screams ’typical pilsner’, only a little bit below par.

Bottle @ home shared with DutchDrebus. Standard pilsener color, no head. Weird smell. Watery texture, no body and low carbo.

This beer aspires to the lofty magnitude in quality set by Saigon Export but doesn’t quite reach its mildly bad taste due to a complete lack of taste, alcohol and anything else one might be able to put a finger on. Drank in a bottle in a cafe in Nha Trang
