500ml bottle from a colleague who brought it back from Slovakia. Not a very good lager. Bit of cardboard on aroma, bit all over the place in the mouth, mostly metallic carbonation on finish. Poor.

500ml bottle. I’m lucky enough to have a colleague who comes from Slovakia and goes back a couple of times a year and he brings me back a few beers. Could have sworn I’d had this, but nope, there are more Zlaty Bazant beers than I knew. Pale gold, lasting thin white head. Some lemony hop on the aroma. Bit of yeast. Mouth feel isn’t all that good though, nor are the flavours. They all fall away a bit. A bit light maybe, but it’s not terrible. Just all disappears a bit. It’s ok, but a little watery and a little dying towards the end. Some sting on the finish. OK.

500ml bottle brought back from Slovakia by a friend. Gold, lasting white head. It’s an ok pale lager, nothing offensive, some hop on finish. Slight creaminess in mouth. Dullish aroma. Looks good, Some vague malt flavour in the mouth. Some bite on end probably from the carbonation, but it’s alright. Hot summer’s day, this would be quite drinkable for a few litres.

bottle from Pivovarsky Klub Praha. Clear very dark, nearly black colour, mid-sized beige head, quickly disappearing. Light-bodied, malty and sweet with hints of roasetd malt and chocolate. Quite nice except for the rather articicial sweetness.

Tap at OTH. Actually this beer was a good suprise from the average pilsners. Pours clear golden with thick white head. Aroma has a pronounced bitter hops nose with notes of wheat. Taste, typical pilsner, grains light floral hops with a nice fruity mouthfeel - apple. Bitter finish with a light presence touch of sugary malts.

Bottle. Metallic hop nose. Golden, no visible carbonation, low foam. Light mellow sweet malt base, ok hop balance, falters on the aftertaste. Medium body. Drinkable but not exiting - much better than the first time I had it though.

Pours pale gold with weak head. The aroma is grainy, sugary malt sweet along with floral hoppiness. It smells pretty good for the style. The taste has malty and graininess to go along side a pulse of spice and floral hops. Just as in the aroma this seems pretty solid for the style.
