Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Dark amber with a tight cream head; rye aroma; sour grain taste with some orangey fruit; and a pleasant prickly bitterness before a dry finish. Full of flavour and very drinkable.

Cask. Deep clear amber color, thick tan head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of burnt butterscotch. Taste has malty toasted caramel.

Cask at the Kew garden hotel. Pale golden coloured pour with a lasting white froth. Aroma is pale sweet grains, light orange note and little berry. Flavour is composed of base malts, semi sweet grains, light delicate citrus orange and berry hop. Simple beer well executed and very drinkable. Palate is light and soft, nice cask condition.

Cask at my local GK hungry horse, which normally only has GK beers so this was something of a find! Poured a pale gold colour with small bubbly head. Aroma is mildly hoppy, floral with notes of orange. Fairly high level of bitterness, light sweetness. Light body, average carbonation. Texture slightly sticky. Original review text: 19/12/2022. Bottle bought by MrsB at Kew Gardens. Pours clear dark golden with a small frothy/creamy long lasting white head. Decent looking pour. Aroma is buttery, caramel, malt, fruit, biscuit, earthy edge. Quite sweet with mild bitterness. Moderate body, oily and slightly watery, soft carbonation. Sweet and slightly chalky finish. It's okay.

500ml Bottle - Dark brown with orangey red tinges. Honey, roasted malt, dried fruit and brown sugar in the aroma. Fruity and slightly sweet taste with brown sugar and nuts standing out. A tasty mild.
