Aroma is somewhat sweet with berries and caramel tones. Foamy palate. Flavour is sweetish with malty tones, raspberries and slight tartness. Foamy palate. Decent, more like amber ale than IPA.

Bottle. Dry orangepeel and spice aroma Cloudy golden, offwhite lace Apple and grapepeel, dry fruity yeast flavors, light salt. Dry full mouthfeel, sparkles break it up. Fruity yeast aftertaste Great stuff

Draft @ Brassigaume ’13. Orangée, col crémeux beige. Arôme est houblonné, citronné, malté et caramel, fruité moyen, fleuri léger. Palais est légèrement houblonné, malt moyen sur une note épicée. Malt garde ce côté farineux, pain le tout relevé par un malt pâle et caramel. Effervescence moyenne sur des pointes de citronné. Le tout garde ce caractère bien belge qui fait la signature de Forte. Houblons restent dans un style euro - noble. Se termine sur une note levure accompagnée de ce houblonné citronné.

Draft @ Brassigaume ’13. Cuivrée sur un trouble léger, col beige. Arôme est malté, léger biscuité, caramel le tout relevé par un houblonné fruité et fleuri le tout offrant un bouquet subtile d’agrumes - citronné. Ce dernier conserve cette influence typiquement belge. Palais est houblonné au premier abord, ensuite, le caractère malté vient relever le tout. Alternance belge entre un fruité noir, caramel, sucre brun avec un petit côté speculoos. Fini garde des pointes houblonnées herbacées pour une amertume plaisante. Les houblons restent de caractère noble.

15 cl. draft @ Brassigaume 2013. Dark amber with little head. Smells boozy with thick malts, syrupy, bread & BE yeast. Taste is sweet syrupy caramel, boozy, BE yeast, lots of brown bread, grains, chestnuts, strong herbs, brown sugar, lots of malts. Thick bodied, strong, warming & slightly boozy. Pretty nice.

15 cl. draft @ Brassigaume 2013. Hazy dark amber with a white head. Nose is sweet caramel, toffee, hoppy, sweet malts, toffee, jammy. Taste is sweet malts, caramel, toffee, jam, syrupy coupled with some slightly floral & fruity hops. Syrupy, thick. Not bad, liked it more than the score on RB would suggest prior.

Draught @ [ Birre Sotte L’Albero 2012 ]@ Bir&Fud, Via Benedetta 23, Roma, Italy 00153.Unclear medium orange amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, fruity, moderate to heavy yeasty, riped fruit, phenol, sweet potatoes - potatoes peel. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, phenol, riped fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121216]

75cl bottle courtesy of JustinK, batch # L13003. Very good attempt at a Belgian. Aroma and taste are spot on. Finish is very abrupt. Taste is butterscotch, caramel, toffee with velvety smooth mouthfeel. Nice job, Italy!
