This stout poured a deep black colour with a creamy, light brown head. Nice lacing. Scents include cocoa, coffee and Melloids cough drops. First swig was quite sweet with flavours of creamy cocoa, coffee and sweet desert. Finish is a 4x4 coffee with dark chocolate flavours lingering.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thick, three to four centimetre tall, microfoamed and large tan head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of super rich vanilla, lactose, cream, chocolate, light spices and a touch of canella and chiles here, at least in the nose - very aromatic. Full-bodied; Very rich malts, vanilla, lactose and even marshmallow notes show at first with a big spice component that has the allspice, nutmeg and especially canella here, but the heat from the chiles is very evident here - not at first, but prolonged, on the lips. Aftertaste is strong from the malts, with a very nice kick of heat, a lot of spices and a supportive, but not cloying amount of lactose and sugar at the end that provides nice balance. Overall, a nice, rich and robust brown that sort of tastes like a porter, with a lot of spice components, bunches of unassuming heat and a nice sweetness - well done, very nicely executed! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Gainesville, Virginia on 06-March-2021 for US$4,29 as my 18th beer of the 2021 Advent Calendar, sampled a few days late at my house here in Washington on 23-December-2021.

Solid porter, notes of chocolate and red berries and a little caramel, with a moderate bitterness on the finish. Probably the best Jesus.

Probably the best beer I’ve had from Duclaw, with just the right amount of chocolate and lactose to add depth without becoming a cloying mess. Cinnamon sugar pops up on the back end, but the finish is somewhat dry, with bittersweet chocolate and a touch of road in the fade.

16 oz. can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of medium roasted coffee beans an a touch of earthy hops. Flavour is full of medium roast coffee and gently dry earthy roast. Not complex but the coffee character is good.
