Recolte 2008. Pours extremely dark for an Ice Cider, dark copperbrown. Scent is showing some of the age, getting a bit caramelly, candied but also dusty apples. Taste is full, sweet on the top, but specifically feels very dry beneath. Certainly less sweet than other Ice Ciders. Slightly nutty (presumably due to the age) giving it an almost (very mild) sherry like feature. Not super thick, especially for an Ice Cider, and only medium-high intensity (versus very high for most others). Still, an absolutely great sipper - even with the age, perhaps even more so BECAUSE of the age. Drinks away dangerously smoothly. Well, at least I comsumed a hell of a lot of apples today !

Very pale pour, no head. Aroma is apples and some alcohol. Mouthfeel is perfect. Flavour is quite sweet, one notch higher and its iced territory. Touch of booze, dry tart finish.

Since I will finally be visiting my hometown, I decided to have my ice cider… Domaine La France Ice Cider 10.5% This is such a deep orange it’s almost pinkish red. It has a richly sweet but a touch boozy aroma. Very full bodied with a slightly slick mouthfeel. It has a sweetly rich apple flavor that includes notes from the skin. It has me imagining mackintosh (or some kind of slightly tart apple with red & green skin). Surprisingly smooth and the heat from the aroma is barely present. I could’ve easily polished off twice as much.

750mL bottle, pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of apple juice, toffee, and gentle acidity. Flavour is odd, with perfumey apples, sugars, and toffee. This is rather muffled and sugary, without much complexity. This doesn't work at all.

Pale, lots of baked apple on the nose. On the palate, it's got a lot of baked apple as well, comes across bright, lightly acidic, sort of a woody finish.

375ml (thx, Frank S.!) shared with George @ 🏡 Appearance: hazy blonde. Aroma: bold, nice apples, reminds ice ciders. Taste: quite dry, good body, nice apples. Overall: interesting how 10.5% ABV can be that dry and bold at the same time. Ok.

Can: Poured a light yellow cider with strong carbonation. Light taste of apple with semi-dry finish. Easy drinking cider but lacks complexity and apple notes could be mor pronounced.
