Bomber from a Safeway in Lynwood, WA. Pours dark brown with a slight head. Aroma is very lightly malty and spicy. Med body. Flavor is roasty malty, mildly xmas spicy, or maybe it’s hop spice; touch of chocolate. Approaches dry, and is decently bitter. Ok drink.

Draft pour at Frankies pizza. Pours a dark amber color with a short fizzy head. Dark malt aroma with light, sweet fruit. Sweet malt flavor. Almost a grape flavor hidden in there too. Sweet, nutty finish. Decent, very drinkable winter beer. Good stuff.

Draft pour. Pours a fizzy copper color with a lasting head. Really wet bitter hop aroma. I would say I have had this beer more often then any other beer, and there is a simple reason. It’s often available, and it’s really good. Sweet and bitter flavors throughout with a hoppy finish. Enjoyed this one for years. Good stuff.

Draught at Fish Tale Brewpub in Everett
Dark amber color with compact head. Light smoke aroma. Lean flavor of caramel, almost biscuity, with a very interesting wet smoke character; strong bitterness.
Don’t expect a typical Scottish Ale, this is a very good Smoked beer.

Cloudy golden color with creamy head. Strange Ale, a bit biscuity and fruity (pear), with correct bitterness.
Linear and pleasant.

Deep copper and amber coloured body with a hint of ruby-tinted brown as well, all with a thinnish, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, toasted malt, alcohol and a bit of nuts. Medium-bodied; Rich flavour of toasted malt, alcohol, grain, rye, nuts and heaps of caramelised sugars - very nice and pungent. Aftertaste shows a big malt character with hints of nuts and rye and some subtle sweetness to finish it off. Overall, a nice beer for the style with a little sweetness at the end - very rich as well. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 30-March-2014 for US$3,99 sampled at home in Washington on 19-August-2014.

22oz Bottle shared with no one, drank on 7th July 2014 at mt daughters place in Newport Beach CA. Not like any other ’Vienna Style Ale’ I have come across before. Poured a hazy orange with a scummy white head, the sediment keen to get out the bottle. Slight malty sweetness followed by a sour off-ish sort of aroma and taste: infected yeast or something? Tried to enjoy it, but failed.

On tap at the GJBF in Osaka 2014. A clear deep copper color. It has a somewhat musty resinous hoppy pungent nose. Well balanced though bitter and while not complex it is satisfying as all hell .
