Description

(Draft at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 17 Sep 2025) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Hoppy, malty nose with notes of citrus, bread and herbal hops. Hoppy, malty taste with bread, citrus, tropical fruit and a balanced citric/herbal bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Crisp and refreshing. Nice one.

Can from Beer52 at 5.2%. Pours a hazy dark gold with decent white foam, good retention and lacing. Aroma has a mild citrus, papaya and buttery biscuit like malt. Taste has a mild kveik sharpness, grapefruit zest, minerals. Medium bodied, nice soft carbonation and pillow like mouthfeel, moderate bitterness. Not exactly intense in the hops but good balance and mouthfeel.

Keg at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels. 8th Nov 2025. Pours hazy yellow with white foam. Juicy body with that kveik fruitiness, long bitter finish. My 200th Belgian tick on here.

16/VII/25 - 33cl can from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ Fleur & Christoph’s BBQ, BB: 6/IX/25 (2025-682)
Slightly cloudy bright yellow blond beer, nice creamy solid white head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of honey, sweet impression, malty touch, a bit oxidized, some almonds. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice malty start, grains, pretty sweet, sugary even, honey, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: nice, gentle bitterness, fruity, almonds, honey, malty touch, a little spicy, ok but a bit too sweet.

22/VI/25 - 33cl can from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: 19/IX/25 (2025-578)
Pretty cloudy murky beige blond beer, huge aery off-white head, unstable, falls down quickly, a little adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet impression, some tropical fruits, pretty floral, soapy impression, rose water, Turkish delight (the rose flavoured ones then, I guess), yeasty, honey, oxidized, a bit malty. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty malty start, yeasty, some banana, a sweet touch, some honey, a bit of tropical fruits, grains, more honey, very gentle bitterness. Aftertaste: sweet, oxidized, honey, very malty, some caramel, either this is not a fresh beer, or it has been stored or treated very badly.

Clear pale yellow blond, big aery irregular white head, unstable, falls down quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: lactic acid, lactobacillus, a bit fruity, lemony, basil, a little funky, some sulphur, spicy touch. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: gentle acidity, pretty bitter touch, spicy, a little fruity, some green apples, good. Aftertaste: clean acidity, malic acid, gentle bitterness, a bit lemony, some apple peel, ok, not great, not bad, but decent.

Very cloudy deep orange beer, big creamy irregular white head, unstable, falls down quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty yeasty, a bit floral, fruity touch, citrus, oranges, zesty, hoppy, a bit dank even. MF: lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: a bit sourish up front, zesty, lemony, lactic acid, fruity, oranges, some green apples, not getting any carrots? Aftertaste: good clean acidity, fruity, oranges, tangerines, very refreshing, not getting any carrot flavour though, weird?
