Description

33cl can, bb 01/2026 OU canne d01/2026 ? lot# 0493.

Can. Comptoir Belge. Carted home via London and Donny because a barrier prick at St Pancras wouldn’t let us through. Cunt. Anyhoo. Murked up orange gold with a nicely soggy lasting white swede. Nose has bitter citrus flesh and zest. Like a ripe angry grapefruit vibe. Nice peachy notes. Some estery character. Pretty clean malt backdrop. Taste is similarly bitter and zesty with a decent amount of sweetness. Good body drinking juice like. Solid bitterness to finish.

330ml can from the brewer @ Fete des Bieres de Collab, Clairmarais. Pours opaque deep smudged gold, white head. Smooth, full bodied exotic action.. a touch pulpy, juicy with a light tangy bitterness on the finish. I sense more going on here than the 5.2% Beer52 edition. Decent.

330ml can via Beer52 (only 5.2% ABV though). Drank at home early evening on 6th February 2026. Hazy, dull orange, white crust, Sans Pamplemousse (without Grapefruit) says the can label. It also says it's a Forest IPA. Well it does have a citrus leaning, more lemon flavoured than grapefruit, not too sure there are forest fruits in the brew though.

[33cl can from Beer52] A cloudy amber pour with a fast fading white head; tropical fruit aroma with a touch of pine; smooth fruity taste with some sweet biscuity malts; then a drier finish with some orangey citrus.

hazy white head
A - citrus melon pine

nothing wrong with this, its just a bit watery in favour for me, the aroma promises more than it gives.

Frothy white head, rather stable over fully hazy orange/ochre beer with a mossy sheen. Very fruity & spicy nose, inviting. Fresh lupulin, orangepeel, exotic fruit. Bitterish/fruity. Again orangepeel, again lupulin, faintly peppery. Hints at resin and leather. Very dry, almost tart finish featuring bananapeel and an earthy character. Light to medium bodied; well carbonated. Really dry. Excellent beer, full stop. Yet one remark: it seems we've gone full circle now. From the times of the first "Belgian" "IPA's", here we have a real IPA that refuses to acknowledge itself as such. Txs to Stef!
