Draught @ In De Wildeman, Danish tick style sample. Clear deep golden color. Off white head. Aroma's: sweetish, fruity, vegetal. Retronasal it's sweetish, caramel, light bitter. Flavor is sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Rather bitter finish.

Bottle @ home shared with Inoven. Opaque pitch black color with a light brown colored head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, roasted malts, some liquorice. Taste malts, alcohol, oak & whisky tart & bitter, dark malts, malt bitter. Body is medium, carbonation is soft. Rather dry finish. Hmm think they can do better than this.

Draught @ Helst. Deep brown-red color, slightly hazy. Off white somewhat frothy head. Aroma's: weird, mold, mown grass. Retronasal it's fruity, roasty, light sweet. Not much flavorwise, light grain, bitterish. Light bodied. Weird, not very pleasant.

7 3 7 3 15Draft at Helst, Amsterdam. Fairly hazy brown with a tan head. Aroma of herbs, hay, light funk and citrus. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Bottle @ home. Dark brown color with a red glare coming through, medium sized off-white had that lasts quite a long time. Aroma is malts, ripe dark fruits, can't say I clearly get bourbon. Some boozyness yes, but not specificaly bourbon. Taste malts, booze again but not in a bad way. The flavor and aroma are both sort of smoother than what I tasted in the regular version. Still, not much of a great barley wine imo. Oproer can do better I know.

Bottle @ home. Dark brown color wth a red-brown glare, medium sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, a bit earthy, some sweet notes, leaves, light malt bitter. Decent body, average to decent carbonation. Hmm not convinced.

Owl Farm, Brooklyn tap: pours dark brown with beige head. Aroma is coffee, smoke, earth and pine. Taste is roasty and moderately bitter. Medoum bodied. Nice aftertaste. Spice in finish

Tap at Oproer. Clear brown with lasting beige head. Lots of sweet malts, light roast, strong caramel, light herbs, bitter oak, quite some vanilla almost like a dry old bourbon, toffee, there’s light tannins and soft red wine too, grassy, soft alcohol. Over medium sweet and quite bitter with a light tartness in the finish. Full creamy body. Pretty good!
