On tap at Phoenix Ale Brewery, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma and flavour of rich roasted malt, medium sweetness for the style, along with cocoa and light coffee. Robust and rich on the finish. Not overly complex and well-designed, but certainly well-made. Good stuff.

On tap at Phoenix Ale Brewery, pours a cloudy golden with a medium white head. Aroma brings out pure white chocolate upfront, not much else. Flavour is along the same lines, with semi-sweet white chocolate notes and a subtle soft pillow wheat base. Nice gimmick beer - works pretty well.

On tap at Phoenix Ale Brewery, pours a hazy orange amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out prominent raspberries upfront, with a bit of an artificial quality. Flavour is muted and somewhat artificial, with fuzzy raspberries and some wheat. Pleasant enough and thirst-quenching; I could drink lots of this on a hot day like today, but there's not much here.

Bottle, thanks to Misterburd. Pours cloudy golden yellow with small off-white foamy head, chocolate malt aroma, high carbonation, lightly bitter, strong white chocolate taste, thin body, long chocolate finish. Very strange feeling, it’s also a bit heavy.

Draft at the source. This one is "dry-fenneled," as the barman explained. No tag for that on Ratebeer though. Crystal clear golden yellow color, thick white head. Huge fennel aroma, wow! Taste is funky, bready fennel. Unique.

355 ml bottle. Pours a hazy, amber with a huge, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces. Tropical fruit aroma with citrus, malt and a weird banana note. Sweet tropical fruit flavour with citrus, malt and a dry, bitter, resiny, pine finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation.

32oz crawler from Whole Foods in Chandler pours with a crystal clear deep copper body that supports a tall light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up estery fruity sweetness that seems pear and apricot like and then I get biscuit malts, a mineral note and faint candy like citrus hops in the background. The taste delivers soft sweet citrus hard candy and thin shards of cherry cough drops heading into a modest resiny hop bitterness. It achieves a nice balance toward the finish between the bitter hops and the various sweet flavors going on here. Interesting IIPA. It improves some as it warms but it doesn’t really come together.
