Moncada Brewery
Microbrewery in London Borough of Brent, Greater London, England 🏴
Established in 2011
Closed in 2021
We began Moncada Brewery in the colourful area of Notting Hill. Julio surrounded himself with like-minded craft beer obsessives and became inspired by the neighbourhood – creative, vibrant and hemmed with diversity – and the Notting Hill beer range was born, which makes up our core range today.
Later, in 2017, we moved to Dollis Hill to expand and explore a new locality. A new place marked a new start, and the Blueprint beer series was launched, focusing on experimentation and limited edition releases, with a touch of eccentricity.
Relocated once more in Spring 2018 to the current address.

Keg @ Tap and Can. Black complexion with deep tan head. Aroma presents noticeable cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate mousse desert. Taste is smooth, indulgent, desert-like with prominent rice pudding coming through, which I didnt think I would get at all, harmonious cinnamon and vanilla with subtle chocolate moments. Quite enjoyable.

330ml bottle @ Tap and Can, shared with Rod B. Pours unclear dark, large beige head. Jammy nose, chocolatey desert. Oily body, sumptuous chocolate cake with good jammy interjections. Grainy malt. Very good.

Opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth and fairly light palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Thin but we'll flavoured dark chocolate, well offset with a mildly tart and fruity raspberry. Little blackberry. Light smooth finish. Pretty darn drinkable but I wanted something more luxuriant.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up via RAD Beer. Pours deep brown with a frothy beige head. Really tasty beer, not overly sweet, some nice fudge, coffee, vanilla, minimal spices. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Strong warmth in the finish, some coffee ice cream, cocoa, light roast, more vanilla, toasted toffee. Quite fun overall.
Deep and opaque color and a nice tan head. Thick, lots of milk chocolate, vanilla, lactose and almonds. Very nice mouthfeeling, absolutly present. Good work!

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from RAD Beer online. Pours oily black-brown with a dense, frothy beige head. Delivers on the description, with nice rich, fresh raspberry character, dark chocolate, restrained sweetness, background roast, minimal alcohol presence. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Only mild warmth in the finish, more raspberry notes, bittersweet cocoa, some earthy bitterness. Very good stuff overall.

Keg at Love Beer London. Certainly smells like a sweet custard. Dark and glossy. Blotchy beige head. The initial sweetness is there before a surprising espresso bitterness comes through. Medium bodied. Creamy. Flat carbonation. Astringent finish. Pretty good even if the aroma delivered more than the taste.
