Description
Moncada is more than a brewery – it’s our home. When Julio Moncada first came travelling through West London in 2001 he instantly fell in love with the place. As a dedicated “foodie” he first wanted to start a deli, but then he had an even better idea – the Moncada Brewery.

We began Moncada Brewery in the colourful area of Notting Hill. Julio surrounded himself with like-minded craft beer obsessives and became inspired by the neighbourhood – creative, vibrant and hemmed with diversity – and the Notting Hill beer range was born, which makes up our core range today.

Later, in 2017, we moved to Dollis Hill to expand and explore a new locality. A new place marked a new start, and the Blueprint beer series was launched, focusing on experimentation and limited edition releases, with a touch of eccentricity.

Relocated once more in Spring 2018 to the current address.

Bottle on 712 to Edinburgh, thanks to Neil Samosa, 24/02/23. Black with a good sized khaki head that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is chocolate, vanilla, custard, brown sugar dusting, dark malts. Taste comprises chocolate, custard, mellow roast, dried fruit rinds, charr. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol. Decent well balanced impy ... could have gone silly sweet but kept in check.

Pigs Ear Beer Festival, 'Ackney. Cask. Hazy reddish amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, fairly light, reasonable fine carbonation. Light touch of tart fruits, ripe berries and good winey tang from the wine barrel. Light winey finish. Pretty flavoursome and thankfully not stupidly sour.

27/12/2021. Bottle with ITFCfan & ITFCDan at the post-Christmas blues share. From Hoppily, Leigh-on-Sea. Pours black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate, chocolate crunch with chocolate custard (school dinner style), cocoa, nutmeg, nut. Medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness, touch of tart. Medium body, slight creamy texture, soft carbonation. Lovely aroma and look but it didn't completely follow through.

Can from Dad and Loz, had this in the caravan bar (dad and Pauline's), Rawson Green, Nr Belper, Derbyshire 4th October 2021. Pours hazy, actually murky yellowy colour with a white head, creamy, oaty, smooth, juicy, initially tasty. A little wishy washy with soapy hoppiness. Ok

On tap at Craft Beer Oasis, Crewe. Pours almost black with minimal head. Roasted malts in the aroma, with hints of oats. Somewhat fruity in the mouth, with liquorice and aniseed. Traces of coffee and chocolate too. A tad watery though. Quite nice.
