22 oz. bottle, pours a near-black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of cocoa nibs upfront, followed by a little ass (yes, really) and some herbal / vegetal notes. Flavour is unusually acidic and lightly tart for the style - this is nastily infected. Shame, as I can see this being good regularly. As is, this is a drain pour.

On tap at Beer Keyaki Spring 2014. A clear copper pour, medium bodied, clean piney bitterness. OK, a solid IPA though it didn’t stand out.

Draught at The Noble Fir, Seattle
Cloudy amber color with compact head. Classic American Pale Ale, dry, with paper and caramel flavor, and strong hopping, with some hop resins, light citrus fruits, a bit puckery.

Bottle courtesy of HypoLuxa at Asahiya.. A lovely golden copper pour with a foamy beige head with staying power. A great tropical fruit hop bouquet wafts from the glass. Medium full bodied with a zesty mouthfeel like a spritzer. The taste is well-balanced between fruity hops, piney notes & biscuity malts. Love the label love & the flavor.

Amber, a little chewy, earthy hop, quite a bit chewy, lots of crystal. So un-Seattle. The hops end up being quite muted and you end up with an oversized amber, which to me doesn’t really work.

Bottle thanks to glkaiser! Pours clear ruby black with a small brown head that dissipates quickly with nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, anise o’plenty, herbal and roots. Flavor is anise, roasty chocolate, light sweet and medium bitter. Medium body, a bit acidic. I am guessing this is good for the style, I just can’t get into the style for the most part.

On tap at Rogue Wet Bar, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is quite dry and full of piney hops. Flavour brings out dry piney hops, floral notes and fairly harsh astringency on the finish - just enough crisp biscuity malt to back. Quite drinkable and thirst-quenching, but nothing overly interesting. Good stuff.

On guest tap Elliott bay pub. Pours out black topped with a ring of tan. Nose is all dark roast sweetness and some malt. Taste is as the nose sweet milk chocolate roast and a little bitter on the end.
