(2020 rating) 473mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of charcoal, roasted malt, burnt notes, and a little molasses. Flavour is likewise rich, with lots of burnt malt, roast, charcoal and molasses. This is much harsher and more burnt than I remember. It's still a good beer, but insofar as imperial stouts in 2020, it's less impressive than it was in 2010. (2010 rating) 1L bottle, pours jet black with a medium tan head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, nuts, dark chocolate and coffee. Flavour of rich coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malt. Palate is rich and complex, with a slight alcohol sting at the end. The absolute best by Howe Sound by far.
