Can. Opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly dark tan head, doesn't last. Fairly light bodied dark malts but, bringing rich and unsweet dark chocolate. The whiskey barrel adds a savoury element and a little oak induced vanilla, whiskey soaked dark fruits, some whiskey spice. The Tokaji barrel adds sweet orangey fruits but, it's very much second fiddle to the whiskey barrel. Light and semi dry finish. Not as sweet as yer average Impy but rich and layered.

Can at CBJ Tasting. Aroma is peat led, followed by underlying dark dough. Flavourwise it's got a long boozy edge. Underlying dough. Medium bodied. Oily. Soft carbonation. Long dry astringent finish.

Bottleshare at CBJ. Thanks to Dan the man for the can. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth and soft palate, modest fine carbonation. Fairly peaty dark malts, decent chocolate underneath. Whiskey soaked dark fruits. Very mild spice on the light and semi dry finish.

Quite Smokey, peaty. Very dry, earthy, loads of burnt grass, light cocoa. Bitter and dry to finish. Lingering peat smoke.

Хорошее пиво, у пивовара конечно точно есть свой стиль и это копченость, но её как по мне тут немного с излишком. Эта копченость слегка перебивает другие нотки типо карамели и бочки.

Cans from House Of Trembling Madness and Against The Grain. Two of only 800 cans. Dark brown body with a tan head that slowly fades. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, coconut and mashed strawberry. Flavour of liquorice, strawberry syrup and blueberry with a faint whisky note. Full body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is ridiculously good - it justifies the expensive price. The barrel influence is quite subtle in this, and I’m delighted to see there’s no lactose, which I usually find leads to overly sweet beers. Love the description on the can. Potential best beer of 2026 for me.

440ml can from Wee Beer Shop, Pollokshaws Road - Jet black, lasting creamy tan head. Loads of smoky whisky character, warm chocolate chilli, roasted malts, liquorice, dangerously drinkable.
