Black with no head tho a wispy one forms a minute or so after pouring. Dark chocolates, caramel, vanilla, coffee, dark fruits, oak, whisky, rum, toast. Full, slick body. Big and bold. Skews sweet without being cloying. More lively carbonation would open this up some.

Jet black with a mid-size beige head. Biiiig booze, whiskey, peat notes, loads of molasses, caramel, chocolate, earth, oak. Full, thick and slick body. I get just a hint of that sherry sweetness but the Islay dominates. It’s a bruiser.

440ml can. Jet black colour with minimally late awakening, small, creamy, fading, dark brown head. BA supported, roasty and dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, Port, Whisky, some wood, a touch of plum, smoked plum. Taste is BA supported, roasty and chocolately, dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, some cocoa, Port, Whisky, wood, a touch of peat, fruity overtones of plum and cherry, some alcohol.
Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine, soft to flat carbonation.
Relatively simple base beer, all complexity is due to the BA - very good, not outstanding.
