Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Black body with a tan head that slowly fades. Low carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of prune, rust and bourbon. Flavour of rye, biscuit, dark chocolate and black pepper. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Rich, boozy and very indulgent. I’d love to see Sinnister cans in Edinburgh bottle shops; I hadn’t heard of them until seeing this beer on House Of Trembling Madness.

Taste - dominated by raspberry with still some milk chocolate and then sweet coconut. Coconut sponge. Palate - medium bodied and very sweet. Overall - interesting but a touch sweet.

Bottle. The Bear, Sheffield. Not far off black. Slim tan ring. Nose has tangy dark chocolate. Some cinder toffee. Vine fruit. Taste is sweet upfront with a tart and twangy bitterness. Dries out on the palate. High-ish carbonation. Tart and tangy finish. There’s bugs afoot.
