From tap at the Gingerman. Pours clear and golden orange with a small tan head. Aroma is mild caramelish. Caramelish and sweet malty. Sweet and malty into a smooth malty finish. Simple.

2/3/2010 A new edition to the lineup of brews available in NH. Pours a deep golden amber with a one finger creamy white head. I was expecting a blueish hue, then I read the label and saw golden ale with natural flavors. The aroma of blueberries and sugar is overwhelming me as soon as I start pouring. It has filled my nostrils and I haven’t even gotten them close to the glass yet. Closer inspection reveals blueberry. Reminds me of the blueberry Eggo waffles my dad used to eat most mornings when I was growing up ahhh memories. I really can’t find much else in the aroma. Taste is a little more beery but really sweet and blueberry like. Up front you get a bit of bready malt and maybe a little honey followed by some of that blue fruit there what is it again? Sweet and sticky in the mouth, medium body and carb level. Not a bad beer, but I couldn’t drink many of these. Its a bit bit sweet and quite one dimensional. Meh!

On tap at Ginger Man Norwalk. Poured a near clear amber with a red hue and a white head that lasted throughout the beer and laced nicely. Aroma was a combination of citrus and grapefruit with a bit of a backing pine bite. Flavor started with grapefruit and mellowed into a bit of a sweeter citrus finish.

A golden amber ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, caramel malt with faint British hopping, grassy and smooth, light citrus notes. In mouth, a good crisp malt with some light toastyness, some some British hops, crisp and refreshing, with a nice lingering light bitterness. A quaffer!

Bottle at BA Lounge, JFK airport. It pours straw yellow with lively carbonation and a thin fizzy white head. The nose is peach, grapefruit, melon, lemon, lime, bread and sweet caramel. The taste is grass, hay, lemon, lime, nettle and caramel sweetness, with a moderate length bitter-dry finish. The alcohol is well hidden, but overall the beer is a bit thin.

Copper color as label advertised, but not very vibrant, almost dull in the glass, modest but lasting head and heavy lacing. Nose is highly citric grapefruit hops, flavor similar. With a very dry base, the spicy citric hops dominate the flavors. Not sure if I really like it. The rye lightens the body and dries out the finish almost too much, the hops have a little too much bite, we’re losing balance here. Gimme a slightly mellower hop, and I’d be more into it.

Bomber from Oak Tree. Pours a nice copper color with a decent foamy beige head. Aroma is floral, and there seems to be a spicy rye hint. Med body. Wow. It is fruity. There’s some floral, but it’s almost like mango or some tropical fruit. And the roughish rye complements the fruit nicely. I’d say it ends slightly more bitter than not, and the malt bitter (weird that) helps. Different but good.

Bottle thanks to Brooha. Pours black. Tan head. Nose and taste of hops, pine, chocolate and malt. Smooth, almost coffee finish. Some tobacco notes.

Bottle at BA Lounge, JFK Airport. It pours straw yellow with a hint of pink and a very thin off-white head. The nose is of very strong, sweet, over-ripe blueberry and not much else. The taste is mostly blueberry, but there is also some hay, grass and a little lemon sherbet, with a short finish. It is thin, has a foamy mouth-feel and is un-complicated. I found this far too sweet and the smell really off-putting.
