Pours a copper with small white fizzy head. Not getting a lot on the nose. tastes a little caramel and bread. Slightly syrupy but easy drinking enough, not enough flavor to buy again, but i do have a six pack finish.

22oz bomber. Deep orange-tan color, with a huge off-white head. Big chewy Rye malt body. Sticky, sandy, dry tones. Gingerbread and a deep graininess. The hops don’t really add that much depth , just reinforcing a steady bitterness. Some doughy malt tones somewhere in the haze of rye/hop bitterness. An interesting beer, but a little harsh on the palate. A pretty bold Rye beer.

Bottle 1pt.6.fl.oz. @ cgarvieuk - Cigar City tasting.Clear medium amber color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, grain, toasted, caramel, rye notes, light to moderate hoppy, fruity - orange, grapefruit notes, light to moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft and highly carbonated. [20100206]

Bottle. Pours a dark copper with a medium/small head and aromas of apple juice concentrate, caramel and a little dust and spice. Flavor has a biting spice presence with a lot of apple juice and caramel. This sits kind of heavy on the palate (in spite of a lower IBV) and is a pretty full-bodied beer. In spite of this, it is still a little bit of an underachiever and doesn’t really go anywhere exciting.

Aroma of vegetables, particularly beets. Medium sweet, brown sugar, and osme more vegetable flavor. High alcohol is mostly hidden, but somewhat felt on the palate. Some caramel, and some hops.

On tap at Beer Run on 02/14/2010. Clear copper amber body with a small white head. Sweet caramel and light fruit aroma. Sweet caramel, fruit and light molasses flavor. Medium full body with moderately low carbonation.

Bottle from a trade with tgncc. Pours caramel color with off white head. Sweet caramel flavor with a hint of chocolate. Toasted malt flavor with some light chocolate and caramel. Light to medium body with average carbonation. Thanks Tom.

Sampled on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear amber color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of toffee, caramel, dark fruits, resiny/citrus hops. Taste is caramel, toffee, leafy bitter and citrus hops, a faint bit of chocolate and some stone fruit notes. Medium-full bodied. A bit boozy.
