Draught Red highlights in dark brown beer with a small, persistent, yellowish-brown head. Again very hoppy nose as is usual with Bi-Du. Some roastiness, which in the taste, makes me imagine (lightly) roasted hops... There is quite some restsweetness, but held completely in check by the roastiness. Bitter toffee, anyone? Quite well bodied, very slick, restsugars helping the body. Sweetish, but thanks to the good hosp, a quite near stoutlike "brune".

Draught Beautiful red-amber ale with thick amberish head, in a perfectly shaped glass, fully reminiscent of a prewar Speciale Belge - so resplendent that I allow an extra point exceptionally. Cardboard, lots of noble hops, bit of lightly coloured malts. Hoppy ale with a sweet cookie basis. Hops accumulate with drinking at least one top German bittering hop (Perle). Slick, (hop)oily MF, medium body. Very good ale, superbly hopped, vying with the best.

Draught Fully hazy yellow-golden beer; thick, persistent white head. Fresh malt, bit of grass, lots of maltsugars too, going to sweet-ish. Nearly tart onset, lots of grass, but a soft, vanilla-like flavour underneath, traces of ureum, traces of pineapple- and bananaesters, always mingled with fresh hops. Light MF, lots of grist slickness, creamy, near velvety. Qutie good, artisanal "Kölsch". Nothing outstanding, but more than decent. Lots of Pilsener notes, more hops than in any Kölner Kölsch.

Dark color; creamy head. Very nice aroma: roasted malt, cappuccino, chocolate; harmonious. Very good taste, well brewed and balanced, with malt, caramel, roasted malt, dry liquorice. The final is bitter, but below expectations. Original; creamy; milky. Very good.

2008-02-23, bottle at La Cava dei Sapori (restaurant in Como), 7-4-8-4-15=38
When warmer, it has a nice malty aroma, a bit sour; good body, a bit alcoholic, with strong malty flavor, perfumy, and in the end there are nice English hops. Good, but in the bottle it’s less interesting than draught.

2007-12-28, draught at the brewpub, 7-4-8-4-16=39
Mahogany color; creamy head. Malty aroma, with a touch of caramel. Very good malty flavor with caramel, quite thick body, sweet, a light fruitness (from the yeast). Everything is perfectly balanced by the bitterness. In the end there is a trace of yeast flavor too. You feel the alcohol in the head, not in the mouth. It can be a Belgian Strong Ale, or a Barley Wine.

2005-12-26, draught at the brewpub, 7-5-8-4-15=39
Hazy dark amber color; creamy head. The aroma is malty, but shows a light infection or wrong fermentation. Full mouthfeel (not oily nor cloying, just right), malty, sweet enough, bold bitterness, well balanced, strong.

Draught at the brewpub, July 2005, 7-4-6-2-13=32
Cloudy blond color; yoghurt-like head, thick. Sharp aroma of spices (coriander) and orange peel. Quite smooth, sweet, some malt, light fruity sourness; at the very end there is some bitterness. It should have a more biting flavor (spices? Hops?)

Draught at the brewpub, 2003-08-03, 7-3-5-3-13=31
Nice strong wheat beer aroma, metallic. Fresh and drinkable; reasonable characteristics, but maybe too watery, and too simple palate too.

Draught at the brewpub, 2005-12-26, 8-5-7-4-15=39
Hazy blond color; thick yoghurt-like head. Nice hoppy aroma (Hallertau) and light malt. The malt profile is quite low, it’s quite dry and smooth at the same time, it has a wonderful hopping. The palate is aromatic, good, not extremely strong.

Draught at the brewpub, 2002-11-10, 6-5-6-4-14=35
Light aroma, some hop.Dry, good hop but lacking a better malt character. Maybe too long infusion for the hop.

Draught at the brewpub, 2002-09-09, 9-5-7-4-15=40
Blond, cloudy; creamy, thick head. Wonderful aroma of fresh hop flowers (hop cones), intense. Dry in the front, then smoother, some malt and malt sweetness, strong hop character; too much yeast. Good palate, with some residual sweetness and a very long bitterness, same style as the aroma. Strict, one-way, peculiar but enjoyable.

2008-03-29, draught with randell at Salone della Birra Artigianale e di Qualità 2008, Milan, 7-5-9-5-17=43
Cloudy amber color; creamy head. Balanced aroma. Excellent mouthfeel, smooth, full flavor: malt, caramel, toffee; perfect! With a touch of sweet nuts. The hopping is seducing, never aggressive, even if powerful. Excellent.
It’s one of the best batches, and with the randell it acquires even more interest.

2007-12-28, draught at the brewpub, 7-5-8-5-16=41
Cloudy amber color; creamy head. Nice fruity, hoppy aroma, quite aromatic (a bit grassy and fruity). The flavor is sweeter than maltier, with good hopping, a bit fruity, but less aromatic than usual. The final is well balanced, with an excellent toffee touch and hop. Less impressive than I remembered, but still very good one.

2005-12-26, draught at the brewpub, 8-5-7-4-15=39
Cloudy dark amber color; creamy head. The aroma is malty, with a subtle hop line and lightly fruity. Malty taste, caramel, toffee, hop; very well mixed together. The final is bold, bitter, malty and with caramel.

July 2005, draught at the brewpub, 8-5-9-5-17=44
Cloudy amber color; thick creamy head. Very nice aroma, subtle: malt, light coffee, caramel, light cheese, and nice American hops. Original and malty taste; caramel, sticky, chocolate, malt, extremely hopped with a good bitterness, aromatic (Perle, Styrian, Goldings, Cascade). Long and bitter final. Excellent!

2002-11-10, draught at the brewpub, 6-5-7-4-15=37
Light aroma, some malt and hop. It presents a light but original note of coffee.

2002-09-09, draught at the brewpub, 8-5-8-5-16=42
Hazy amber colour, creamy collar of foam (nitrogen conditioned). Very nice aroma of caramalt. Good body, heavy maltiness, smooth, some sweetness soon balanced by a strong hopping. Heavy palate, very long, malty and of course hopped

Dark brown color; thick creamy head. Aroma of cappuccino. Served not cold (!) it has a very good malty taste, round, some sweetness, a strong and dry roasted malt character, nutty. Strong final.
