Description
We’re Fell, a small craft brewery with bars based in sunny South Cumbria. We’ve been making beer here since 2013 and appreciate how lucky we are. We love The Lakes and will always be firmly grounded in our local area and community. We like to think of ourselves as a progressive brewery, embracing modern styles alongside our own interpretations of the classics. We love all sorts of beers in all sorts of formats, with a particular fondness and commitment to cask ale.

We’re fiercely and proudly independent. We take huge pride in the fact that a Fell beer will always be the product of a small, passionate team who are committed to what they do and genuinely have fun doing it. We make beers that we ourselves want to drink and put our heart and soul into it. We hope you enjoy drinking them as much as we enjoy making them.

Bottle thanks to Fergus at level 42. It pours darkest brown - black with a medium, foamy white head. The aroma is sweet, dried fruits, fruit compote, Eccles cake, plum and jam. The taste is bitter - sweet, plum, jam, fruit compote, fruit cake, dried fruits, cocoa and sweet roast with a short finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not a huge amount of depth, but overall ok.

Keg @ Sparrow Bier Café, Bradford. Very hazy amber-orange with a bubbly head. Slightly active in the palate, it has a good amount of banana in its nose, with this also evident alongside citrus fruit in its taste. Dry tasting.

Can at home in London - picked up in Castleton. Pours clear, reddish brown with a creamy, tan head. Nice aroma, with moderate roast, some baking cocoa, dried dark fruits. Medium sweet flavour although fairly dry, with more dried fruits, bittersweet chocolate, some earthy bitterness, light ash. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Well rounded on the finish, with more cocoa, mellow ash, dried and leathery fruits, faint berries. Really solid overall. There’s a lot of depth packed into this one.

The aroma has nicely rounded citrus fruits, some rindy lemon, grapefruit, a bit of dry pale malts, hay. Light to medium sweet flavour with grainy pale malts, pithy grapefruit, tangerine, pine needles. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Pretty well balanced on the finish, with more dry pale bread, mellow pale grains, restrained piney bitterness, hay, rindy lemon, grapefruit, orange. Overall, this is a pretty solid IPA.
