Description
Based on a busy working farm in the picturesque village of Bradfield in the Peak District, Bradfield Brewery have gone from milking 100 cows a day to brewing over 100,000 pints of beer a week! The brewery sprung to life with completion of its first Brew on 26th April 2005 and the brews have carried on flowing ever since.

Trivia: As the family had enjoyed 2 generations of farming at Watt House Farm and not wanting the cows to feel left out, some of the beers are named after breeds of cattle.

Handpull cask at the Thorn Tree, Ripley. Very dark brown with a touch of mahogany, almost opaque with a large beige head. Light chocolate notes on the nose with a little bit of liquorice. The taste is sweet with the liquorice much more prominent, and notes of black grape near the finish. Some balancing hop notes in the finish. Light carbonation. It's a lively stout, would have expected it to rate higher.

On cask at Piccadilly Tap, pours black with a medium, creamy tan bad. Aroma is pretty restrained, with toasted malt and crusty bread. Flavour is dry and bready, with plenty of dry crusty bread. Almost no sweetness, nor any harsh metallic character. Easy to drink, but not much character.
