Bladder bag at the Royston, Broadstairs, 05/02/22. Pale golden with moderate white spotting. Nose is pear drop, apple orchard, light sugars, little in the way of a clue to the chilli. Taste comprises stewed pears, subtle chilli, tannins, wood. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, drying close. Not bad actually ... the chilli, whilst notable, is kept to a minimum.

Sample thanks to Graham. Hazed purple appearance, as befitting the name. Aroma is dark Berry bubblegum, blackcurrant, vimto. Taste continues along these lines, light bodied, still, pleasantly fruity with a nice simple sweetness, no rough edges or tannins with the dark berries singing the tune.
