Cask at the ledger building Jdw. A mid amber coloured pour with a small off white head. Aroma is earthy malts, toasted brown bread, autumn leaves. Flavour is composed of earthy twiggy malts, little dried apple. Palate is semi sweet decent cask condition. Dry woody finish.

Cask handpull at Hamilton Hall JDW London. Clear deep amber copper brown colour lasting beige head. Malty bitter with some decent sharp fruit. A bit like the Hogs Back beer malty with a sharpish almost sour fruit finish. Some apple acidity. Some dusty hop. Malts arent great. Ok .

Cask at the Caley Picture House. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of toffee, metal, faint citrus. Taste is very metallic. Not enjoying this. Glad itโs only a third. Like licking a battery.

Bottle from a now unrecalled source. Pours mid brown with an average sized off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, molasses and nut. Moderate sweetness and medium plus bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Packs quite a punch.

Cask at the White Swan, Solihull. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a thin white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a grainy malt, woody hop bitter, light fruit palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

500 ml bottle: BBD 13th Aug 2017. Poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 17th Feb 2017. Deep, dark mahogany body, foaming lightly tanned head. Roasted, toasted malts lead the nose and taste with both chocolate and toffee flavours to the fore, some dark fruit notes too (raisins, plums, dates, dried figs). Liked it.
