Description
The Alchemist is a family run brewery specializing in fresh, unfiltered IPA. John and Jen Kimmich originally opened The Alchemist as a 60 seat brew pub in the village of Waterbury in 2003. After eight years of success and growing popularity, they decided to open a small production brewery. Today The Alchemist currently operates two breweries in Vermont and distributes Heady Topper and Focal Banger throughout the state.

Cloudy yellow orange beer, big solid irregular off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lovely, very fruity, dank hops, resinous, oranges, orange peel, tropical fruits, more dankness, lovely! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, a bit resinous, dry, som citrus, grapefruit, hoppy, very bitter. Aftertaste: more bitterness, resinous hops, a bit dank, tropical fruits, grapefruit, a bit spicy, nice!

Can thanks to Kevin. Pours a cloudy yellow orange with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is grapefruit and dank. Medium body, dank, oily, grapefruit, lingering bitterness, very nice.

Can at the brewery. Pours hazed gold with a foamy, white head. Nice understated dank hops, citrus rind, pine, supportive pale malts. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with some dirty hops, more pine, citrus peel, bread crust, dankness. Excellent.

On tap at brewery. Murky orange gold pour. Creamy white head. Bittersweet citrus aroma. Flavor is bittersweet citrus with notes of orange, lime and grapefruit. Soft, creamy mouthfeel. Bitter finish.

16 ounce can at brewery. I guess it’s back in production! Jett black pour. Creamy tan head. Roasted malt aroma has a hint of yeasty funk. Flavor is sweet roasted malt, cocoa and espresso. Sticky mouthfeel. Tasty.
