Description
Arkell’s Brewery was established in 1843 by John Arkell and 175 years later, is one of less than thirty family breweries remaining in the UK. As Swindon’s oldest business, Arkell’s has kept its founding values alive and continues to produce local beer for local customers. These values have been continued by the four family members in charge today; Chairman James Arkell, his cousin Nick Arkell, Head of Sales, and James’ sons George Arkell, and Alex Arkell are Managing Director and Head Brewer respectively.

An orange beer with a lazing thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of rose hips, while the flavor is sweet with primary notes of straw, but also lighter notes of hops, leading to a lightly bitter end. The body is a bit thin.

Cask at the Thames Head Inn, Kemble, Glos 24-06-06. A golden quite pale looking beer that is instantly refreshing and very quaffable, some hops present but just a simple beer done well that is just right on a perfect english summers day.
