Bottle from Leven's hall. Nose is dark malty, hazelnut, spice. Taste is dark fruit, malt, hint of licorice, roast, spice, cigar smoke, herbal hop, slight chili buzz. It's enjoyable. Hard to believe this is the original recipe; a 5.5% beer couldn't have kept for 21 years.

I would have put money on that I'd rated this before, but there is nothing on here to prove it! Anyway I've defo had it now. Hand-pulled third of a pint in the Butler's Bell, Stafford on 8th April 2022. Just as I remember it (or maybe not), Ruby body, beige foam on top. Malty, fruity and herbal blend that comes together nicely, late liquorice flavours almost ruin it though.

Cask (gravity) at Standing Order, Derby. Pours a cloudy ruby red with minimal off-white head. The aroma is a melange of fruits and liquorice. In the mouth it is sweet and fruity, with flavours of ginger, dark fruits and liquorice. Some spiciness in the finish as well. Rather nice to say the least !

Cask at Tank & Paddle, York. Pours pale yellow gold blonde with a creamy white cap. Aroma: fruity, citrus, hoppy, floral. Taste: light sweet & bitter, pale malt, biscuit, citrus, floral and light bitter. Smooth mouthfeel, served sparklered. Light body with fine carbonation. A golden/blonde ale with flavour, and you can't always say that
