Opaque black - brown beer, little pale tan head. Rich ground coffee nose, quite strong. Smooth palate, a little dry. Mild malt cream and then rich fruity coffee with a touch of earth. Finishes semi dry. Somewhat one dimensional but it’s nice coffee!

Opaque black - brown beer, small suddy pale tan head. Palate is smooth, slightly soft and just a little dry. Smooth dark malts, mild cream. Subtle and mellow coffee. Finishes smooth and semi dry. A little mild hop bitterness coming through. A straight up smooth and decent porter.

On tap at the Brew By Numbers brewery. Hazy amber thin white head. Tangerines peach and passion fruit aroma. Wow it’s hoppy and not hugely bitter. Good upfront bit of sherbet. Finish is relatively short but the reedy hop continues on.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours hazy gold with a creamy, off-white head. The aroma holds tangerine, lightly doughy pale malts, some citrus rind. Light to medium sweet flavor, bready pale malts, orange and tangerine, touches of flinty yeast, a bit more rindy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mellow resins to finish, some pine needles, orange, semi-dry pale malts, subtle minerals. Very tasty, easy drinking pale ale.

Bottle from the brewery. Big chocolate notes, with plenty of roastiness in support, a hint of dark fruits and a dryish finish with a hoppy edge. Very good.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a slightly hazy light amber with a frothy white head and lots of carbonation. The aroma is sharp crisp acidic citrus fruit. The flavour is weak bitter initially with some acidic sourness, heavy yeast and some liqourice developing in the palate and well into the finish. A very crisp refreshing beer. I was surprised!
