Description
Blue Bee Brewery is an independent brewery in the heart of the valley of beer in Sheffield, England.

Blue Bee was set up in 2010 by Richard Hough, former head brewer at Abbeydale, who has also done stints at Acorn, Crown, Spire, Raw and Marble. Starting his own brewery allows him to use this invaluable experience on his own terms, creating beers that are noted for “quality, consistency and with a slight addiction factor”. In 2014 the business was acquired by Reet Ale Pubs, which runs three pubs in Sheffield.

On cask at Three Tuns, Dronfield - Jet black body, thick lacing tan head. Nose is rich stem ginger (not the powdered shite), lots of spiciness, and the roastiness of the malts giving it a great kick. Taste is likewise, loads of rich ginger cookie taste, set back on a great roasty toasty platform. Long finish, and nice thick body. A proper Christmas Cracker!

Cask @ Castle Hotel, Manchester. Very dark but not quite black, with a creamy off-white head. Not quite as strong tasting as it might suggest and has more of a stout or porter texture albeit a thinner one. Its tropical fruits are no so evident in its nose, but they are evident in its taste.
