Duncan Sambrook founded Sambrook’s Brewery in 2008 when there were just five breweries operating in London. With his vision of bringing brewing back into the heart of London, Duncan pulled ex-brewer David Welsh out of retirement and back into his dungarees and wellies. To

Since 2008 we have been brewing beer in Battersea, but after 12 years on our current site we have decided to relocate a mile up the road to Wandsworth Town. Later in 2020 we will be brewing beer on the site of the Ram Brewery where we will launch our new tap room and visitor centre.

Cask, handpump at The Boaters Inn, Kingston upon Thames, Thames Tipple Leg 9 Hampton to Kingston Upon Thames 13-03-10 Pours warm gold with some bubbles but no head to speak of. Nicely tangy with good bitterness. Lightly citric in the mouth, little bit of fizzy fruit, good stuff. A6 A3 F7 P4 Ov13 3.3

Cask at the Bree Louise, Euston. Copper with a thin cream coloured head that laced the glass well; rich malty aroma with some red fruits and butterscotch; full bodied with a fruity and spicy taste - reminds me of spiced plums; lightly hopped finish. Very drinkable. (January 2010 - 6/3/6/3/13=3.1)

50cl bottle from the brewery. Copper with no head; red fruit aroma; solid malty taste with light dry finish. Still very drinkable. (June 2012 - 6/3/6/3/13=3.2)

(Cask at Harp, Covent Garden, London, 26 Nov 2009) Brownish amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, nutty nose with notes of dried apricots, dusty hops and a touch of sulphur. Malty, nutty taste with dried fruit, apricots, nuts, a touch of butter and dusty hops in the finish. Below medium body, rather sweet. A decent bitter.

Cask @ The Bree Louise, Euston, London NW1. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel flavor with some hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty caramel finish with some hoppy hints in the aftertaste.

Cask handpull at The Rake, Borough. Yeasty and lovely biscuity malt. Good fruit, it’s got some hopo on end. Really pretty good bitter.

Cask @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear medium orange amber color with a small to average, virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, straw, caramel, fruity, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090805]

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 25/11/09. Copper coloured with a decent white head. Aroma of biscuit malts, damsons and some hedgerow hops. Flavour of hazelnuts, dryish malts and a touch of brambly hop in the finish. Good.

Bottle from Mr Lawrence wine merchants, Brockley. Pours golden/amber with a white head. Aromas of citrus, malts, nuts,wood. Flavours of malts, summer fruits, tangerines. Finishes bitter and malty.

From cask at Duke of Wellington. Pours clear and golden orange witha small white head. Aroma is light vanilla - smooth. Smooth malty flavoured, light fruity hops note. Light bitterness into a dry finish. Flat malty finishing impression.6-3-5-3-11=2.8

From cask at Bree Louise. Pours clear and golden orange. Aroma is mild peachy and hops fruity. Bitter, malty and slight peachy to citrusy hops flavoured. Bitter and dry finish. Clean crisp and bitter finish.6-3-7-3-13=3.2

Cask-conditioned at the Harp, London WC2 23/09/09. Amber in colour with a white head. Sweetish, fruity aroma with some grassy hops. Flavour had a malty edge to start, before earthy English hops took over with a pleasantly bitter finish. Good.
