York Beer Festival 2024. Extremely dark, not quite black. Low strength provides for a low but still very drinkable stout character, somewhat smooth and milky with roasted notes most evident in aroma.

Cask @ Hopinn, Newcastle-under-Lyme. Deeper clear golden with a creamy-bubbly head. With plenty of body, it is a dominant hoppy over malts effort, but both are evident.

Cask at Hops, Crewe, Pours very dark reddish-brown with a medium sized frothy tan head and good lacing. There’s roast malts and dark fruits in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet and fruity with a creamy texture. Roasted malts and dark fruits in the flavour with some hints of chocolate and vanilla coming through later. There’s a s;ight sweetness in the finish. This is quite decent.
