Brightside Brewing Co.
Microbrewery in Manchester, Greater Manchester, England 🏴
Established in 2009
We started trial brewing on a home brew kit back in early 2009 when the country was in the depths of the recession, which is partly how the name Brightside arose. That and the fact that we also like The Killers!
These days we’re an established name in Manchester, with a reputation for quality consistency and service. Our beers can be found in many of the free of tie pubs and bars in the city, out towards Crewe and Chester in the South, through the Wirral, and up to Preston in the North (in fact, across much of the UK by way of swapped casks with partner breweries and wholesalers).

Cask at Square Bottle, Chester. Pours very dark reddish-brown with a small foamy cream head and good lacing. There’s roasted malts and milky coffee in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy with chocolate and roasted malts plus hints of cola, ginger and herbs. A little bitterness in the finish. This is decent.

Cask @ Molly House, Manchester. Darker clear golden with a glow and a creamy head. Strong but healthy tasting bitter, with a developing but easily managed bitterness in its aftertaste. Malts in aroma.

Cask @ Molly House, Manchester. Golden with a creamy-frothy head. Fairly standard IPA with a light fruitiness, but certainly nothing wrong with it.

Cask @ Flying Horse Hotel, Rochdale. Extremely mildly hazed golden with a creamy head. Hopped brew, a tad watery, perhaps less flavoursome for it, but easy enough drinking.

Cask @ City Arms, Manchester. Very dark with a thick light-brown creamy-frothy head. Feels a tad thin with very light coffee notes but a good oat base.
