Brightside Brewing Co.
Microbrewery in Manchester, Greater Manchester, England 🏴
Established in 2009
We started trial brewing on a home brew kit back in early 2009 when the country was in the depths of the recession, which is partly how the name Brightside arose. That and the fact that we also like The Killers!
These days we’re an established name in Manchester, with a reputation for quality consistency and service. Our beers can be found in many of the free of tie pubs and bars in the city, out towards Crewe and Chester in the South, through the Wirral, and up to Preston in the North (in fact, across much of the UK by way of swapped casks with partner breweries and wholesalers).

Darker clear copper coloured and a very good slightly hopped mild ale in style. Drank at the Paramount Wetherspoon in Manchester.

Keg at Moon Under Water, Manchester. Clear gold with smooth white head. Floral and stone fruit aroma. Quite bitter with sweet flora, grass and some grapefruit. Not very exciting although it did grow on me.

Can from lowcostbeer.com, consumed a whopping 17 months past BBE. Pours a cloudy bright gold with small white top. Aroma is very citrusy as expected with lime dominating, faint hint of malts underneath. Taste has a decent lime flavour, moderate sourness, and it has enough of a bready malt to realise it has an ale base rather than just being a dull flavoured lager. Any hop flavour has long gone if there was ever any that could get past lemon and lime adjuncts! It's fairly tasty though.

Cask @ The Paramount, Manchester. Black with a creamy light-brown head. Has a gritty roasted malt taste with a slightly smoked aftertaste. Some coffee beans involved too.

Certainly lives up to its hop-led billing. Clear and golden with a frothy white head, nothing much on the nose, just your routine light malt. Light bodied but with a little chewiness, floral hop bitterness hits you up front, there’s some citrus in there too and a dry bitter finish

Draft at Manchester Academy - Sex Pistols gig. Malt & citrus nicely balanced but a bit heavy going.
