Description
A pioneer of the Brisbane craft beer scene, Green Beacon was founded in 2013 with the vision of creating a world class beer culture for the people of Brisbane.
It started with two mates and a couple of beers on the sandunes of Moreton Island, Queensland. Looking back over the bay towards Brisbane, a Green Beacon was spotted, an idea then sprouted, and Brisbane’s first craft brewery was born. The doors to Green Beacon’s Teneriffe brewery were opened on the Australia Day weekend of 2013.

Oh, God this is good. Aromas of passionfruit, grapefruit, orange, honey, pine and more. The hops dominate more on tasting, but it's amazingly smooth for an 8% drop. A winner.

Can sampled during Aussie trip 2017-18. Pours hazy yellow golden with a good white head. Decent aromas of stone fruits, tropical fruits. On the taste it’s light sweet moderate bitter with big tropical fruit flavours & a good smack of piney hops. Medium bodied, good carbonation. Hoppy, bitter finish. Well balanced and very drinkable

Can, 5.8% ABV. Clear gold with an inch of white head. 3+ Aroma of lychee, honeydew melon, pineapple, mango skin, the meadow. Lightish bodied, medium high carbonation. How refreshing: an IPA that's completely clean. Sweet hayish malt, tropical fruit, some weeds. Bitter and slightly resinous at the end. Impressive.

Tap at the Boilermaker House, Melbourne. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is malt, grassy hop, mineral, light citrus. The flavour is light sweet light bitter with a light watery, grainy, light fruit, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Light and watery all round. Served cool and kinda hit the mark in terms of refreshment on a warm day, but has no backbone.

Tap. It seems this is the name of whatever the Winter seasonal release is. Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of sticky spiced buns, chocolate, grapefruit, strong pine - assertively hoppy. Drier than expected with chocolate, some ash, lighter citrus than suggested by the aroma, plenty of pine. Bitterness is restrained. Good, raucous. 7373 15
