Bottle. Somewhat unclear brown with just a few bubbles. Aroma of bread, toffee, pine, wild herbs. Fullish bodied with very low carbonation (which suits it fine). Sweet with breadcrust with a burst of booze (nothing raw), herbs and bitterness at the end. Very nice indeed.

From a 440ml can on 5/7/2023. As much beer as I've drunk, I'm not really familiar with the concept of the white stout. Pours a pinky red with a medium head. Features a mild strawberry nose. It certainly does have a strawberries and cream flavour - moderately sweet with a light tangy finish. Has a lightly creamy mouthfeel with average carbonation. Don't get the barrel aged part at all. Pleasant enough and actually quite refreshing (not a word usually associated with a stout!), if a little subdued overall.

Can at Scugnizzo restaurant, Melbourne. A quaffable IPA that felt slightly on the sickly sweet side of the pale ale category. Light looking.

From a 440ml can on 24/6/2023. Pours a fairly clear amber with a smallish head tat disappears quickly. Smells malty and fruity - toffee, caramel and green apple. Fairly sweet on the sip, with more toffee and caramel, some raisin, date and a bit of brown sugar. The finish is mildly bitter and a touch boozy, though it's still pretty easy drinking for 11.2%. The mouthfeel is a touch syrupy, the carbonation average. Very solid, but a not a standout for me.

From a 440ml can on 8/6/2023. Pours a deep brown with a smallish head. The aroma is taosty with light chocolate and peanuts. Tastes of milk chocolate, oats and a hint of peanut butter. Finishes with a modest roasty bitterness. Has a slightly creamy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Not out there, but really well done and very tasty.

(Can) Pours opaque pale amber yellow with small white head nice aroma of pine and citrus. Good mouthfeel with medium body and bright carbonation. Good taste too. Plenty of hops with a lovely citrus fruitiness. Some earthy and herby notes. Nice hoppy bitter finish. Pleasant hazy IPA.

Can. Golden amber. Not far off clear with a 2cm white head. Sweet tropical fruit aroma with some peach and minor citrus notes. Creamy texture; medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Sweet at first with a melange of tropical and stone fruit that wanted something to define it. Then a grumbling spiciness that's presumably the rye comes through towards the fairly bitter finish. Lots of good elements here but it lacks a bit of shape and doesn't offer enough for its strength.

From a 440ml can on 21/5/2023. Pours a clear deep amber with a small to medium head. The nose is sweet and malty - caramel, toffee, dark and dried fruit, finishing with a light spicy bitterness, with a hint of bourbon booze. Syrupy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. This is a lovely barleywine - sweet, complex, very easy drinking for the size. There's a touch of booze but it's not obvious given the 12.5%. Lovely stuff.

Can. May be the last one of the pretty decent pre-GABS pack. Gold with no head but lots of streams of bubbles. Aroma of fresh and old citrus, crackers. But perhaps surprisingly, you can taste the pear and it makes the whole thing quite juicy. Only slightly sour. Finish is slightly twiggy. Pleasant but very strong for what it offers.

Can. Deep red brown with a good inch of beige head. Aroma of slightly nutty singed toffee, bitter oranges. 7+ Upon a taste there's a bit of pine too. Not a lot of body, moderate carbonation. Not too sweet - which is, for me, what makes a hoppy amber - with singed toffee, citrus and medium resinous bitterness.
