Aromas of pine, tobacco, glace cherry and orange peel. The pine dominates in the mouth. It's well-crafted but a little one-dimensional after that more complex aroma.

Can. Pale amber, white head that's soon a coat. Shyish aroma of orange peel, some just ripe tropical notes, crackers. A sweet, caramelised edge to the malt melds with orange and kumquat before a moderately bitter finish. Harmonious and subtle but maybe a little strong for what it offers.

From a 440ml can on 27/12/2023 (shared by Ed with thanks). Pours a clearish deep golden with pretty much no head. Has a strong and pleasant caramel and vanilla nose. The taste is very dessertish - lots more caramel and vanilla, along with the promised icing sugar, though I don't get the coffee. Finishes with a modest but sharp and slightly boozy bitterness. The mouthfeel is a touch creamy and syrupy, the carbonation moderate. Unusual but comes together really nicely.

Can. Almost clear amber with a 2cm white head. Aroma of kumquat, pine, breadcrust, some Meyer lemon. Nicely knitted together. Moderately sweet with a fairly bitter but well off-dry finish. Sunny. Four good beers in the series.

Can. Cloudy yellow, no lasting head. Mildly funky aroma with fleshy lime. Light and crackery, moderately sour. Lime sits in the flavours happily enough. Refreshing.

Canvent. Dark brown with a beige head that's soon gone. Aroma of singed toffee, strong bread, prunes, sultanas, spices (mainly vanilla). Is there a roasty edge? Hard to say. Full bodied but not syrupy. Lowish carbonation is nice. Malty with singed toffee, some dried fruit, more obvious Bourbon barrel with bitterness as well as (a little much) oak at the end. Pretty good.

Can. Very dark brown. Less than a coat of tan head is very soon gone. 3- Aroma of dark sugars, roast, mocha, sweet licorice. Fairly sweet with lots of spiced licorice, caramel, pretty gentle roast, lowish bitterness. Solar Eclipse was good, this is ordinary.

Can. Almost opaque brownish orange with a near cm of white head. Plump hoppy aroma with papaya, orange, white grapes, mango, grapefruit, crackers. And the breadth of fruit flavours plays out upon a taste. It's juicy with a vibrant top and a rich middle - but never sweet. Taste gradually fades away rather than having much of a finish. Very nice.

Can. Gungy amber with a dense but fading white head. Aroma of orange, peach, some pulpy mango, grass. Smells good but heavy, but that's belied by a swig - it's surprisingly delicate with floaty fruit and barely medium bodied. There's a little swell of alcohol and it fills out just a tad before a fairly bitter finish. Series going well.

3/10/2023. Can courtesy of Michael enjoyed at Ipswich Speedway - Ipswich Witches vs Sheffield Tigers in the play-off final first leg (which we won 54-36). Chose this beer tonight as my Aussie rating #300 and toasted our Aussie legend Jason Doyle who scored an immaculate 15 point unbeaten maximum. A great night, and the beer was pretty good too! Cloudy pale orange gold with a small white head. Aroma is hoppy, orange, tropical, grapefruit, pine, dank notes, touch of passion fruit. Heavy hop bitterness, which mellowed a touch but not much. Medium body, quite soft carbonation. Bittering boozy finish. Enjoyable.
